Well I'm still not signing up for your disney marathon

 

I know the 505XL is just as basic as mine. Typical squelch control, ch selector, and volume knob. That's it. The COBRA 19 DX4 is the one above from what I have, pretty sure of it, the only real difference with that one is that it has RF Gain control... supposedly "boosts" your signal? I don't know about the "your"... RF Gain that I know helps with matching weak "incoming" signals. Kinda, sorta, works hand-in-hand with the squelch? I don't know, there are things I'm still learning myself, but to "boost 'your' signal" implies to boost the wattage output of your transmitter because, essentially, more wattage means greater distance!!! I don't know, I can't quite explain my thoughts/thinking in writing/typing this. Anyways, either way, if you can, get the Uniden 520XL because, overall, it is much better than the COBRA (function wise) per price. So yeah, technically, I guess you could say that the COBRA is more expensive? I bought mine because it was "on the shelf"... LOL!!! I didn't really "shop around" and it was very much so an "impulse buy"... LOL!!!

 

Impulse buys are great though! That's how I bout my rearview mirror haha
