Weight to Coil Spring Rate

I am currently running 650# springs on my SAW coilovers. I currently sit at 22.25" in the front. It used to be 23.25." I'm not sure if my springs have sagged, or if I have exceeded the weight rating on them which is causing them to sit at a lower ride height. Might it be time to up the spring rate to 700# springs?

Additional weight over stock in front is as follows:
- TRD Blower 70lbs (roughly, probably 10 pounds more)
- Bruteforce Hybrid bumper 85lbs
- BAMF 1/4 IFS skid 84lbs
- Relentless T-Case skid 40lbs

Total weight over stock (rough, because of unknown TRD blower): 279lbs

Are 700#'s a go?

How much preload are you running on coilovers? I've been very happy with my 700# springs and have not experienced any sag yet and they hold my front end up with no preload.

 

Oh wow. Interesting. Preload is set to 1.25" on both sides.

I was having issues locating a manufacturer of springs who manufacturers a 700# spring, not even Eibach ERS's lineup of springs (which I am currently running makes them in that rate). So I am going to be running PAC coil springs if I do switch them out. They are the only ones who offer 14" 700# 2.5 ID springs.

 

Oh, also, what size spring are you running BTW? 14"?

 

Get a 14" King 700# spring on there. You'll be fine.

You can get them in different colors IIRC, if that's an issue

 

No issue with color, but I need them to be 2.5 ID. Not 3.0.

 

Ok. Go back a page and go for the 2.5 ID springs. Wait, you're running 2.0 Saws up front?

 

Mind blown. Exactly.

NO ONE offers 2.5 ID springs at 700# spring rates at 14" coil length. That's why I'm going with PAC. They offer spring rates all the way up to to 1000# :O They are probably targeting the Ultra4 class with that kind of selection.

Always with the LT Jeff. Lol. Dude. I got 2.0 resi coilovers, 2.0 air bumps and 2.0 resi smoothies, in that order front to back all in the front. I'm kosh.

 

Here @VolcomTacoma. These are the only ones available in #700 spring rate and up for 2.0's.

Well, get 2.5s like you're supposed to on 2nd gens and you wont have that problem

I am not having an issue with overheating or fade. I have plenty of support up front shock wise to deal with what I like to do.

BTW, false to your false. Confirmed King doesn't make 2.5 ID springs in 700#

Fair. Lol, fair. Still though. I enjoy my MT and I just need to tweak valving in the rear end. I am most concerned about raising the truck back up to correct the height now at this point because of all the weight I've added on though.

 

A 4x4 doublecab taco needs 700lbs springs for sure
