Saw you were headed to Brattleboro earlier this week, just a weekend getaway or visiting people? Haven't been up that way in quite some time, otherwise I'd give you some ideas on where to go.
I think NYCO is up in that area.

Morning peeps! Wondering if I could get your experienced opinion on something. AFE Stage II Pro Dry Intake.

What is your opinions on that? Good? Not good? I have the TRD cat back alreayd and have been thinking about an intake for a bit now. Someone is selling one here on TW, who coincidentally I purcahsed something from and have to drive down to NJ to pick up, so seriously thinking about buying it since he offered to help me put it on while I'm down there, whenever I go to pick up what I already bought.

 

I've always heard as far as cold air intakes, they're a good option. I think Volant had one that is well liked also. It will make a little more noise than stock, not sure if you'll notice anything from the driver's seat as far as power. General consensus is they're one of the better aftermarket intakes you can buy but don't expect any real gains from it. Once you get in installed, unplug the battery for 20 minutes so the ECU resets and relearns everything with the new intake.

 

I agree with Mike. I had the Volant on my GMC and the AFE on my Tacoma and both were quality products.

 

Any butt dyno improvement?

 

Thank you gents for the input and opinions! I think I'm going to pull the trigger on it and get it. Gives me an even bigger reason to finally make it a point to get down there and pick up what I had already purchased from him. Going to be tough, especially now with the new addition to the fam.

 

Definitely not in the GMC until I did a program. I don't think there is any major improvements other than in my head

 

Was the tune worth it? I'm still going back and forth on doing one to the Ford. Seems like they can really wake the truck up, but I'm not sure it's for me based on how I use the truck.

 

The GM products have a "torque management" and "abuse management" that needs to be turned off. They both are there to help GM make it thru their drive train warranty. Once I turned them off my 6.0 really came to life. If I still had the Tacoma I would have been looking to do something similar to it

 

I hear adding chrome and stickers can really boost performance as well. You need to be selective with stickers though... My college sticker didn't do diddly, it's the Monster or NOS stickers that really add power.

 

I found a guy up in Reading that did custom tunes instead of just picking up a super tuner or Diablo type. He went thru and made all kinds of adjustments based on our conversation and my needs.
