Stereo shut off

i have a 2015 Tacoma 4x4 Limited, my stereo has done this a few times but it will shut off then after a few seconds turn back on and play fine.why is this happening?

 

'Cause Toyota wants you to visit them for warranty work?

I'd be making an appointment instead of worrying about 'why'.

Do you have a phone paired on bluetooth and plugged into the usb at the same time?

 

Yes my iPhone is paired but it's not plugged into my usb port

 

i work at the dealer and i have seen this a few times. got a few questions for you and ill be able to tell you whats wrong
you have new iphone 6?
the radio just reboots randomly?

 

Have them look at it the next time you take it in for a oil change. Most likely they'll just tell you they can't recreate the issue, and theres nothing they can do.
My next car might just be a $10,000 beater, I'm sick of dealing with the fucking warranty hoopla dealers make you go thru.

 

Black taco I have an iPhone 6 Plus and yes the radio just reboots randomly . Last night it rebooted twice in a fifteen minute time.

 

You have your contacts stored in the radio? If so the radio doesn't like something with it. Toyota is in process of coming up with a software update to fix this issue. For now they say to remove the contacts and see if it stops resetting

 

Yea there is a update also for that. Forgot just got to work and looked up the tsb. Shouldn't cost you a thing

Ya. Call and tell them you need your radio updated. Tsb number 0160-14. That should fix it

Any fix for a 2016 sr that drops blue tooth randomly @Blacktaco2042 ? Ive taken it to the dealer but got the we can't replaicate bs....then it started doing it as i was leaving and showed the service manager. He made up some bs about my cell carrier being the problem, rolled my eyes and left.

It does this daily and i have to re-pair through the headunit as my phone stops showing toyota in available Bluetooth connections. It does this with calls and while listening to music. Does this on multiple phones...galaxy s3, s6 and iphone 5c and 6.

 

They told me the would have to order the sad card but thy need to see my truck so I am bring it in now. Thanks for the info

 

Chealy if they give me that line of shit I can see a Kenwood going in like real soon

 

Black taco I'm at the dealer now and they got it inside . It did it four times in the 15 minute ride here

 

Blacktaco I want to thank you for all your noledge I brought it to Toyota and the took it inside and it did it to them . They updated the stereo and now everything seems to be working great so again thank you so much

Tomwill I took mine to the Toyota dealer and they did and 30 minutes later I was on my way home . Now it's working great again.
