I have a burnt out cluster bulb, I'm going to replace them tomorrow. It looks like you have to disassemble the ac panel to get to that? I was only looking to do the cluster.

Yes but it's not that hard just some bolts holding it down. Take you time so you lose any of them.

I did mine today, I did not need to remove it. Only took out the two screws for the a/c area and popped the top forward and that was enough. Thanks.

After doing mine today, a few things to note which may have been covered, I did not read the entire thread, I probably should have!

    • To test the lights, the dimmer had to be plugged back in. I spent a few minutes switching bulbs around before I figured that out.

    • Removing the plugs for the ect/dimmer/rr diff wasn't as easy as it would seem, took a lot more force than I anticipated. Same with removing the a/c vent tube, it was pretty wedged in there.

    • Putting the front cover back is way more difficult than taking it out, you really gotta work it in there. I put tape on the skinny front piece it would have got scratched to hell on the steering column, I spent a good 5 minutes trying to reinsert that thing.

Overall an easy task, took a little over an hour. Went with superbrightleds natural white 360*

maybe just because im old, but after trying several blue versions and settling on incandescents as the best "natural" look, I decided to go to whites in the gauge cluster to match the climate controls.

it has a nice white gauge look in daytime and at night the gauges look dark gray with white numbers and its very easy to see in all conditions, even the transition times at dusk and dawn.

just thought I would mention white is a very nice look so you don't "have to have" a color bulb

I bought the #74 bulbs but someone was saying the bulb that goes into the automatic gear shifter doesn't want to stay in. It keeps falling out. How do you get it to stay in and not fall out? I bought 3 blue LED's one for the glove box, one for the shifter & one for the ashtray.

Let me know how those go in. The shifter and the ash tray lights are the only ones I have left to do but I don't know how much of a pain they are.

I used a small little knife and moved the little metal connector closer towards the middle. Has served its purpose.

I put the glove box, & shifter blue LED lights in and had no problem with the shifter LED light staying in. Haven't tackled the ashtray light yet. Also even though the LED light is blue on the shifter the R stays Orange.
