Womens Hiking Backpacks - Osprey Mira 18 and Kelty Coyote 75

My wife is looking to sell two of her hiking backpacks, they are female specific packs. Both are in good condition, no stains, tears, or fraying of the straps. The Osprey was used just for day hikes while the Kelty went up Mt. Rainer and a few other climbing classes. She's only selling because the Osprey isn't quite big enough for long hikes (Which means I have to carry the rest of the gear ) and the Kelty can't hold ice tools, otherwise they are great packs.

would these be good for someone going to europe? a friend is planning on going this summer

 

How tall is your wife? I think the Kelty would be a good pack for my girlfriend she's pretty short though about 5'. I've never had her fitted to women packs and it's been a while since I bought mine for me to remember how the sizing works.

 

I guess if they plan on back packing, the Kelty does have loops you can attach carabiners to hold sleeping bags/pads, etc. Can hold a 3 liter camel back. A lot of small separated compartments along with the main 75 liter capacity compartment.

My wife is ~5'4'', small build. The sizing process can be lengthy since almost every part of the pack can be adjusted. On this Kelty, you can adjust the shoulder straps which is pretty straight forward. The hip straps have two points of adjustment, and the back padding can be moved up or down to raise or lower the pack. Only bit of annoyance is that with the back pad moved up (moves the overall pack down closer to the hips) the chest strap gets pretty high up and in winter cloths may cause some rubbing on the lower neck/upper chest. Was rare but that even happens to me in my pack (Gregory)
