Does anyone have any good offloading/camping areas near abq? I normally go to southern CO but want something a little closer...

I usually go up to Jemez and hit the San Antonio Hot Springs. Its a beautiful area and the springs are pretty awesome, so long as there aren't too many people. There are a few different ways to get there, the easiest being the rd #376 (same road as gillman tunnels) unfortunately it opens July 1st and closes mid Dec. The trails to walk there are a few miles, maybe 5 each way, but tons of great fishing along the way.

Other great spots I like for fishing, are Chama and particularly close to the El Vado lake's spillway. The best brown trout fishing in NM and possibly the US

Looks sweet, leafs are definitely needed, my taco now has wings with that noticeable weight off. I guess I'm going to be even more heavy footed hahaha.

If you don't want to go that route I replaced my bump stops with poly springs from E trailer.com keeps the ride smooth.
    Easy install.

Been visiting Tacomaworld for a little while now but was unaware that there is a NM thread.

Currently working on a RTT set up.

Anyone been to TAV in Albuquerque? They seem to be up to speed on the Toyotas and have done really good work that I've seen. They have a Front Runner rack for a Tacoma bed currently in stock. Anyone have experience with bedracks locally?

I haven't been camping up in chama area, usually I go to Durango/Silverton area because I grew up in the area. I may have to go that direction if I can find some decent area, maybe even go south.

Needs to be in the 8 - 10" range above bed rails. Would be nice to have it bolt in behind the bed tracks as well.

after reading @crux post about TAV, I stopped by after work. I spoke with Walt. He is a super cool dude. They have a fully functional shop and are getting a couple more units close by. They don't have a showroom yet but are in the process. He gave me the run down on a lot of products they are going to be working with. This is probably the best and most informational shop I have ever seen for anything Toyota. If you guys have any desire to outland your vehicle I would highly recommend them. They were finishing up a 5th gen 4runner and it looked amazing. Suspension work, custom bumpers, roof racks, SAS. you name it, they do it. I was very impressed with their set up. I just wanted to spread the word and give the local Toyota shop some credit and hope you check them out.

He also gave me a little tip about the overland expo in Flagstaff this coming may. We should find out some details and get a run together to head out there.

Anyways, just wanted to give some love to the local, small business guys and spread they word about their shop. Walt is a stand up dude and knows his stuff!!

And yet another JK POS victim. I traded my 13 JKUR for my 13 double cab sport and could not be happier to be back in a Toyota. I had the Jeep service tech actually say "It's a Jeep you can't drive it that hard"

    Welcome
