New member here, been checking out the forums for a while now..

Pulled the trigger earlier this month and picked up a 2016 SR BR, DC SB. This is my first truck and first Toyota, but I've loved every minute of it.

Already been taking it up in the mountains and has surprisingly done very well for being stock for the moment.

It seems like there's tons of good info on this forum, and lots of helpful members. I have a bunch of ideas/plans for this truck moving forward, so I'm excited to see which direction I decide to go.

 

FYI for the group! I priced TPMS sensors from Toyota today for a second set of wheels. Turns out there are no aftermarket sensors that work with the 2016 (so I am told). It is because they have to be programed by a Toyota dealer. Currently only genuine factory sensors work. I am sure there will eventually be a work around once the software gets updated and spread around. TPMS sensors $392 a set ($98 each) plus programing fee. OUCH!

I Already had one of these that I used on my 2014 Tacoma and When I swapped Rims I had to get new sensors for my 2016 and Program them in.

Got my sensors all 4 used off Ebay for $64.95.

When I get mine this summer, I'll be adding the top plates to help prevent dirt/sand kickup on the bottom of the truck. We frequent the desert a lot so it's worth it.

 

Cleaned up dog puke from the back seat.....fuuuuun.

She puked right as i opened the door ti let her out, hit the only part not covered by my seat protector and ran down onto the carpet and into the sill....

 

Went with top plates to protect paint from rock chips, pain to wash but oh well. When I go to sell, it should still look good.

 

Just so I understand you correctly. You are currently using these sensors on you 2016? And you used this to program them?

 

Correct, also these aftermarket sensors are suppose to work as well. Their website states they do.

Installed the spidertrax spacers yesterday. Love the stance of the truck now. Also... plasti dipped my wheels as a temporary solution till i get after market wheels.

 

Good to know. Firestone tried 4 different brands of sensors before they gave up and sent me to the dealer. The dealer tried for almost two hours before they came out and said only Toyota sensors are going to work, and they had to order them. Firestone is paying for it.

 

Did you have to tell your computer it was a 2015 Camry for the tool to work?

No I picked 2016 Yaris as the Ateq guys asked me to.

 

Yes the hoop is quite a bit smaller then the picture. We held it up and it still looks pretty good but it's not what their picture shows. I sent them an email but they were closed for the night. I'll keep you updated.
