Only problem, today's Army is nothing like is was 10 years ago or even 5 years ago for that matter. Its a complete shit show now and only getting worse. Morale, quality, and leadership have been stripped to bare bones and the quality has long gone from forced retirements to involuntary medical retirements. It's a fucking disgrace from what it use to be.

You're right morale is low and quality of soldiers is low too. 15+ years of war will do that. Flood gates opened for people to join during the height of the war. For every high quality soldier there was 3 questionable soldiers allowed in. Every war has caused this kinda swing. Right now we are cleaning house and fixing what has gone bad with what the army has been. You'll never see a soldier make 7 in 7 again.

Just a little az auto insurance info for you all. Recently looking into switching my insurance since I am new to the state and wanted to shop around a little. I was planning on going with progressive, as I have used them in the past for rv and motorcycle insurance, and were always quick and easy to deal with. After about 2hrs on the phone with them, I came to these conclusions. Being in a college town, I wanted to protect the mods/ and what not incase someone decided to steal a light bar, CB, what not. When giving them a list of my mods including suspension, I was told that with modified suspension, they could not provide personal coverage and I would have to get a commercial plan. The catch, you cannot use a commercial vehicle for personal use. So basically anyone in az, with progressive, and modified suspension, is risking being protected in the event of an incident.

So looking like I will be going with State Farm. So long as you aren't in a sanctioned race, you are covered in the event of an off road incident. And so long as you can provide proof of purchase/ receipt with purchase price, all mods are covered in the event of a crash or vandalism. Plus after talking to my brother who is an estimater at a collision center, State Farm and Mercury are the two easiest companies to work with, and make it right for their customers.

I know a few pages back people were talking insurance and about how good usaa is, but for those of us that aren't qualified for that, here's a little good food for thought.

Progressive also wanted an estimated value of the mods/ work done to the truck to better help get me an accurate quote. Had to think about it, way too much :anonymous:

I didnt go through that with Progressive mang. Ive had them for a decade. It also helps that i have a ton of equity in my truck because I paid 26 for a 34k truck. I just have the aftermarket parts covered up to 5k.

Not trying to speak down upon progressive. Like I said, I've used them in the past and was happy with them. I guess I was trying not to get too specific about everything on my truck being covered. And trying to tell the truth about my truck to them, I may have not helped myself out. Admitting that I've got close to 15k into my truck, and them asking about suspension got me unqualified. State Farm was about $20 a month cheaper with smaller deductibles as well.

And if anyone in the flagstaff area wants to head out to the cinder hills tomorrow, I'll be out there noon ish to see if my new shackles and added ride height are gonna help out through whoops. Buddy is bringing his jeep out as well since he just got his suspension installed as well.

If I would have stayed in, I would have made my 7 in under 7 but I went in as an E4. I hear the horror stories from former privates that are now NCOs and the shit they have to deal with. They always tell me though, hey SSG Lee, if you would have stayed in, you'd probably be in Leavenworth if you did the same things you use to do to us. Fuck that shit, that's not hazing, that's a right of passage and if you cant handle that shit, get the fuck out of the Infantry. And with all the new bullshit PC mandates about integration, I'm glad I'm not in anymore.

Still have the scars on the collar bones from having the rank pushed in when switching units, the shit we used to do mang, especially out on that wood line when adjustments needed to happen . . .

Signing up for this for April

    https://www.gadventures.com/trips/thailand-hike-bike-kayak/2640/

with my discount and airfare I think I'll come in right at $1k for 2 full weeks in Thailand because I have a $1,000 credit to Expedia. I could do it for maybe $500 less if I backpacked it but I wouldn't get the activities or the local guides that were a huge help finding rad places in Vietnam. Plus I'll have a few free days to see friends that live there too! Only issue it is hot as hell there during then. Thought about The Maldives and live on a boat for a week and island hop but it rains a lot in the beginning of May there.

Option 2 if I could get on the single spot of the April trip

Hmm. This is making me think of switching. USAA insurance has seem to gone the tubes. I've always heard USAA always going above and beyond for it's members and making it right because people usually are members for life. It seems because of that they got complacent and are not as good as it seems to me.

My total loss isn't covering aftermarket and parts right now. Had the supercharger, wheels/tires, exhaust not part of the value anymore even though they said they would consider it. Kind of bullshit they backed out of that! WTF. I'm going to ask them if I can pull off the supercharger off my truck then.

Will do. Been out there a handful of times in the truck. My bike is still in ca for the next few months. I'm just curious to see if the added rear ride ht from new shackles will help keep the truck from bucking and bottoming out through whoops.

maybe next time then. Like I said, it's just gonna be a quick run to do some testing.

    Posted in the classifieds too:

Anyone need tires? Stock rugged trails with 26,900 miles on them as of right now. New lift and tires are going on the truck in the next couple weeks. Super low price of FREE.

Figured I'd pass them along instead of donating them to the tire shop. I live in central AZ but travel alot to the valley.

If you still have these tomorrow I might pick them up. Brother was rear ended and his truck is more than likely totalled so we'd like to keep his tires. I'll let you know though.
