Any DIY'ers out there working on this mod? Searching the forums I see where @BenWA did a slick version for the second gen's, but nothing yet for the 2016's. This is a mod I'd be willing to pay some cash for...

I would also be willing to pay cash for something clean. Either a full roll down tundra style window or even just the passport window open on an actuator

@StreetTiresJay I'm with you, man. I've seen some clean set ups for the second gen, however looks like they aren't being made any more. Waiting on some one mechanically minded to rig something up

Is the window different than the 2nd gen?

I saw the BenWa DIY power rear window. I would love to get it also but it looks complicated to piece it together since he doesn't want to share the specifics of the build. I know there is a thread that basically details it out. The mod is really nice if we can figure it out.

That's a good question... If the rear window assembly is an interchangeable part between gen 2 and gen 3 then the aftermarket solution for the Gen 2 should be able to fit the Gen 3 with a bit of tweaking at the most.

I've got my 1000km maintenance booked today at 3pm, I'll ask the service department for a print out of all cross over parts between Gen 2 and 3. (I know there is a thread on this already but I dont think it's complete) make those service guys work for their money :tinfoilhat:

There's a chance we'd be interested in recreating this and offering it through our website. Let me put a little thought into this and get back to you all.

Count me in, also maybe some thought towards the same kit being applied to a canopy rear window optionally wired into the same switch to open both windows at the same time?

Just throwing this out there, but I'm a steel Fabricator, I know other guys that work in machine shops and have access to CNC equipment. If there was enough interest I could price out certain parts being milled from aluminum or Even stainless steel... Such as the window bracket BENWA designed. Obviously there would a cost for fabrication, but by no means would I be trying to make money off this.

I'm personally still fuzzy on the fitment of all these parts. So if we can help each other out, count me in for some of the legwork

I never open the back window on my truck. It just creates a vacuum effect which in turn sucks in every leaf, pine needle, dust and debris particle that was previously laying in my bed. Could see opening the rear window being useful if you had a Cap on your bed.

Opening the driver window or a passenger window as well as the rear window should prevent mass suckage

With the back window opened and sunroof cracked you get a nice flow.
