dipped grill and badges love that stuff!!

 

I left the chrome attached to the colored surround took it off the truck and just taped about 1/2 inch between chrome and colored piece, 5 coats peeled off tape came out really nice!!

 

went orange with the blue NY METS colors or McGrath or Dungey

 

did my inferno grill all black came out nice

 

I have a few pieces that I want to dip, but I have never done it before. My concern is the temperature. I would end up doing it at night and it would probably be around 40. Is that to cold to do it? I was thinking of waiting till it warmed up.

 

good idea I would wait for it to get warmer. I did my grill and badges at 60 degrees and they came out nice

 

When I did my rims it was cold outside so I brought the cans of plastidip inside overnight to warm them up. I then waited till mid day to do them when the sun was out and it was warmest. I know when the cans are cold, the spray comes out clumpy, but once they are warm, it comes out nice and smooth. It was in the 40's when I did my rims and it still dried good. I went through a wash 3 days later and there was no peeling. Since then (about a month) I've gone through the wash once a week with no problems.

 

Taped off around grill and added left over Christmas wrapping paper to cover larger areas and behind grill. Toyota emblem pops out with ease. Plastidipped grill with 4 coats of black and 2 coats of clearorizer(made by plastidip). After a few days passed, the outer chrome ring started to bubble up and it bothered me so I began to peel it off. Luckily, the outer ring peeled off separate from the rest of the grill and looks 100% better and almost factory! I'll keep it like this until an aftermarket grill comes out worth buying.

Finished mine up this morning. 4 coats black obviously and went with 2 coats of the glossifier. Glossifier made it look more of a "factory" look to me. Matches the other black plastic on front pretty good.

Yea chris (glendora t) emailed me beginning of Jan that it was due in. My neighbor has an inferno 4Runner so I didn't want to copy him. We would have looked ridiculous going places together lol!
