Passenger drop?

 

Yeah 85 yota axle. Going to use the inchworm adapter to make the truck 4wd without swapping transmissions since its a 2wd prerunner. That'll make it a passenger drop.

Replaced my transmission mount today. Quick backstory: I replaced my driveshaft center bearing recently and it looked like the entire assembly was riding low inside the new center bearing. I was worried this may cause premature wear. I noticed my original transmission mount had a lot of play so my shifter would wobble a bit at higher speeds. Anyway, popped this baby in and everything looks centered now underneath and my shifter wobble has been reduced. Not much on here regarding replacement of this unit so I was considering a short how-to on it. Feel free to reply with any questions or feedback.

 

I was wondering what brand did you decide to go with? I've been considering doing the same thing to mine.

 

I went oem. I like to use oem whenever possible.

 

What's the best reman CV? Getting tired of fucking with the c clip on my OEMs just to replace the boots. This one I'm working on is being fucking impossible

Ended up getting a Napa unit

 

Lol mines in the other side, I just left it.

 

I finally got my high output alternator on and working. Also started laying out the rear 4 link and chopping up the 14 bolt axle.

I went with Napa, seemed to have the best reviews. It's been about two years and no problems.

 

I have 2 cheap ass autozone cv's on mine....been there for 4 years with no problems...OEM one split day after lift and the other a year later

 

Good news, bad news. Finally got my bumps installed. Timbrens attached to a All Pro top plate.





When I removed my passenger wheel I found this.

 

Fixed my dash lights Definitely switching to blue soon though, the white is pretty distracting even dimmed.

 

Blue will be even worse, green and red are the colors that are easiest on your night vision.

 

Replaced my missing brake pedal pad with this:

I literally just bought OEM remanufactured ones. More expensive than napa or autozone remans, but I've read the quality of the boots are better. Idk...

Funny, same bulbs on mine went out over a month ago...

 

My shipment should be here later this week on the TC ucas! Stoked to finally fix that upper ball joint problem..

Although I'm having trouble finding any installation videos for a first gen. My main concern is the through bolt looks really tight against the apron in the fenderwell.
