Not sure if I'm in love with it. The lower skid turned out shitty so I removed it for now. It's my first attempt welding/bending/notching so taking that into consideration I guess it didn't turn out that bad. I still need to figure out what shape I want to cut into the upper skid for air flow. It's made out of 1.25" DOM with .25" plate for the mounts and 2x2 for the main mounts. It's definitely sturdy and it's tied into the lower cross member.

No hurt feelings, just looking for honest opinions and/or suggestions. :anonymous:

This is just me but the big trapazoid in the front seems out of place. Painted and maybe plasma cut up a bit more will help. Tubing looks great though!

Yeah I've cut it down and reshaped it and this is the best it's looked. It still seems goofy to me. I just can't put my finger on what to change. :annoyed:

First thing i noticed was that, next i looked at the angle of it and just feel like its going to create alot of drag. Howd she look without it? Could do some altering to maybe add a light bar or winch setup in that area

Like it should have had more angle? I had been thinking that, but after burning it onto the mounts at THAT angle it was pretty much set in stone. I think I feel the same as you about it. When I decided on this angle it was because I didn't want it to extend too far out, but I think it needs to. Damn...

Doesn't look bad for your first attempt!

I think it would look a little better if the front/upper plate wasn't as flat (if that makes sense). If you decide to make any changes I think it would look good if you build a skid plate that tightly followed the bend up towards the front/upper plate.

The lower plates actually does do that, but my cuts/mounts turned out a bit off so I left it off. I wish the upper plate had some sort of bend, I just couldn't figure out how to incorporate that. I give a lot of credit for the people that are actually good at this type of work. It's not as easy as it looks. I spent a lot more on tools and materials than it would have cost to just buy from someone who knows what they're doing.

Angle could help, just the actual size of the flat plate seems bigger and follows lower than what ive typically seen. I think at this point into how much work you've put into it, either modifying the plate, add some features to it so it doesnt look so plain and maybe shorten it? The sides where the bottom angle comes down towards that plate maybe cut it off at that intersection? Nonetheless your doing something homemade and kudos for that!
