These things are huge. For reference, I'm 5'6" and was the same height as the top of the wheels.

Was that a rail yard at some point? Or was it just randomly abandoned on a secondary track? Pretty cool, amazed it's still mostly intact and hasn't been picked apart

From what I've read it's in the middle of nowhere. There's been some talk of doing a trip up to check it out this summer from some of the NE BS guys. Would definitely be a cool trip.

A man named Edward Lacroix hauled the trains in over frozen lakes and rivers one winter in the late 1920's, and built his own private railway to transport timber to different waterways.

They're now known as the Eagle Lake Trains. I usually go see them 2-3 times per year.

That's cool. You don't find them altogether out here unless they have been restored.

Wish I would have found this but my roommate in the Army (we were stationed in Germany at the time) found a luger half buried in the mud while we were opforing out in the woods. He did the right thing, after showing me the damn thing he kept his mouth shut and mailed it home.

I often think back to that time and wonder what if we had found an old potato masher grenade or anti tank mine.

Me and some friends loaded up some kayaks in my Tacoma and went out kayaking on the river. We went under a bridge and found a car upside down on the bank. Apparently this car drove off the bridge and fell probably 50 feet. We are assuming pretty slim chance that the driver lived. Then later on down the river, I shit you not. We found a dead goat hanging from a tree branch by his horns. That was some voodoo witchcraft shit right there. Then a rusted out greyhound bus with a homeless guy living in it. You will see all kinds of stuff on the side of the rivers. BTW can't find the pic of dead goat and the bus. This was 4 years ago. 2016-02-28 19.26.55.jpg

I've been told this is a Native American Grinding stone, used to grind corn or whatever. It's right alongside the road coming into my place, so that's why I put a reflector next to it, so no one would drive over it.

I would say it's a natural formation except for the drain channel carved into the rock. It might have been expanded from a natural bowl in the rock.
