Anyone tried putting that hood scoop to work?

    Has anyone ever drilled a hole in the hood under the hood scoop and plumbed directly into the intake? It makes sense to me that it would force a huge amount of air into the engine and increase horsepower. Maybe it would be too much air but it would be nice to put that cool looking scoop to work instead of it just being a cool looking scoop! Please let me know what you think before I drill a hole in my hood!

    4.10 gears, sliders, and lots of buttons.
    Its located in a low pressure area of the hood. IF you were to run it to your intake, and seal it so as to make that location the only source of intake air, you would loose HP. Before you think too much into this, I suggest you look at the aerodynamics of a truck. There are 2 High pressure areas at the front of a truck. First, the front of the truck at the grill. Second, the base of the windshield. To Add: The fender location where the OEM intake gets the intake air from, is a high pressure area, and relativley isolated from engine heat. If you want to consider a "Ram Air" type intake location, it has to be at the front of the truck, much like the URD intake.
