I may be asking for a world of bitches and complaints, but isnt that all I see here on tacoma world :p. First time truck owner here looking for people to expand past google searches. So the Colarado has some features that I want(power/leather seats & towing that I dont need) while having a lower price. The Tacoma has more reliability, resale value? and better exterior looks. What else am I missing?

Why not to buy a Colorado ? Depreciation

I drove a Colorado the day before I bought my new Tacoma, I couldn't bring myself to buying the Colorado. Even the Chevy salesman admitted that the Tacoma would hold it`s value way better.

Please, buy a Colorado. If you need an internet message board full of random opinions to make a $35k decision in your life, you should go with what we tell you. :pccoffee:

You create an account on a Tacoma forum asking why you shouldn't buy a truck that competes with the Tacoma, knowing that you will get negative feedback. If you are willing to do all that, then you must already have your mind set on the Colorado. Either that or you're trolling. :notsure:

Don't buy a Colorado. Buy a Canyon instead.

Test drive the Tacoma and see which one works better for you. Leather seats can be added later, though some power and convenience options can not (power seats).

At the end of the day you need to get what's right for you, and your family. Price also plays into that as well.

Actually no, I'm still leaning to Tacoma. Im just looking for real world experience and figures rather than from paid advertising. Maybe its trolling, but if you cant play the devils advocate, what good are?

There is another thread on this. I test drove a Colorado. Hood fluttered so much I thought it was going to flip up. Felt like a pos to me. I still believe the US makes are not as high quality as Toyota. And, you really don't save much money these days when you buy American makes.

For me, ultimately, ONLY Toyota offered the configuration that I wanted : 6 sp manual with deluxe trim level.

    My 2 cents

Toyotas are easier to work on. For example, you don't need to tear apart half the engine to replace a timing chain guide.

Had the same question, it's even more tempting that they have a diesel variant.

But then again... I'd rather just change the oil on my Tacoma once every few thousand miles rather than breaking down somewhere and sending it to the shop.

To each his own. To me nothing beats reliability.

    My First post, Cheers.

Sounds like you already know why you shouldn't buy a Colorado.
