    Ha.. Think it was more of a symbolic representation of sin and devil in my life.. It forces itself in when you least expect it.. It cant allow itself in if you don't allow it ...once you unlock the door ... You allow everything in and then influenced by that sin.. Least I think that's what I got from the dream...

    If you're going to paint instead of dip, you won't need to sand the "chrome" off. Just rough it up with some fine grit sandpaper so the primer/paint/bedliner will adhere to it. I did the one on my FJ from silver to black using bedliner and it was good to go for many years. Held up very well.

    Not sure how you intend to paint it, but on the FJ I used 350 grit to rough it up, paint thinner to clean, let it dry real good, and a few coats of bedliner only.

    I wasn't trying to get it smooth because I was going with the bedliner so it didn't matter.
