    Gotta love people nowadays.....

Apparently somebody backed into my brother last night while he was at work. He has to use my truck since he has no vehicle at the moment. Not a note, insurance info, nothing......FML.
Luckily the damage isn't too bad. I'll have to order new clips for the fender flares and a new taillight (already ordered). The bumper I could care less about...just means I can order an SOS rear now! I'll have to go in and get a quote on repainting/mending the quarter panel though which probably won't be cheap. Could be worse I guess.....

Sucks, he may be your brother but you don't HAVE to let him drive your truck..........not your fault he doesn't have one. So who gets to take the insurance hit? Or will he pay for the damage out of pocket?

That doesn't look like a lot of damage but it'll cost more then you think to repair it correctly. FWIW, HE was using it, it is HIS responsibility to take care of any damage done, not yours.

I have a brother like yours, I love him to death but he'll never touch any vehicle I own again because of his propensity to have damage done to it any time he borrows one.

My rear tail light got cracked and I got a new perfect match one off eBay for less than $80.

Is there a video camera on the parking lot where it occurred?

I bought a light for $60 + shipping through Amazon...wasn't too bad. My brother called his boss and said there aren't any cameras in the parking lot. I may check with the other stores in that area and see if they have anything but I highly doubt it.

Well actually he does HAVE to use it. He fell onto some hard times so he moved in with me here in S. Carolina from Texas (long story). He doesn't have a vehicle so in order work he's gotta use mine. He's already offered to help pay

Bummer but a good excuse for a high clearance bumper. Look at the positive and you'll save on body work.

Sadly, some people ARE totally irresponsible. Referring to the driver that backed into your truck, and just ran, that is. If he/she hit it hard enough to do that amount of damage, they KNEW they hit something!

should file an insurance claim. a hit&run is not at fault, and if you have an insurance company worth a damn, that should not affect your premiums.

I too would file it on my insurance, but then again with me being older it doesn't effect me as much as it does the puppies. :)
