For those that own one, where I live is no problem just a typical driveway but when at my girlfriends she lives downtown and its back laneway parking. (parking on the street for more than 3 hours or overnight gets you a $70 ticket without permit) I'm curious if I could park the taco in the back once I get her.

Heres a video from my dash cam of me parking and turning in with my jetta. Getting into the parking spot isn't a worry for me. The curb isn't that high so I can always just put the front up in that other area to back into the spot etc, my concern is that left into the lane at the beginning of the video. Does it look doable with a taco. I wish I could ask one of her neighbors what its like but no one has anything bigger than a small size SUV. And eventually I will be living here eventually since her mom is going to be giving her this house once she's married and going to live with the grandmother two doors down.
    https://youtu.be/HL1Fa5chsvY

first 30 seconds is all that really matters, you can see how much I need to slow down just to turn in my jetta, so in a truck much longer not sure how it will be. Oddly its easier to turn in here with my parents subaru forester than my car. Car is lowered and has a terrible turning radius.

Hard to tell from a video but looks doable to me, especially if you swing wide by going to the right a little first. Funny, it does seem like the Tacoma drives like a bigger truck when turning.

I seriously could drive my Taco pulling my 20' ski boat in there with zero issues.

trust me you do not want that law. Its bullshit.

think of it this way, you're hosting a family dinner where does your family park without getting a ticket?
ya once I get it and if it doesn't fit? lol
one of her neighbors on a different street has a taco I always see parking around the neighborhood, second gen but ya. I almost want to find whos it is and ask them to try it lmao.
where you see me go slightly right before turning is usually cars. This was one time there wasn't its usually a jeep and infinity SUV there.
her mom always says when her and the father was still together that he parked a ford super duty there. NO clue how he made that turn unless it came from the top of the street.

I know the taco could easily make the turn at the top of the street.(two ways into the lane) But when the father lived there that parking lot you see right behind her spot wasn't there. and if you come from the top of the street its hard to back in.
It was stupid when that parking lot was put in the college that that belongs to asked all the people that have parking in that lane way, but since it only effects my girlfriends house and her neighbors in which neither park there didn't care. Now it makes parking a fuckin nightmare. No clue how they got zoning to build right up to the edge of the lane.

When I had a camry as a rental making that turn was a bitch. So thats when I got worried. camry is longer than my car and shorter than a taco and gave me a hard time. It was doable but required multiple takes.

Mind you this could have also have been just because it was a different car than I am used to and wasn't used to it. I'm mostly just worried about scraping the driver side or hitting the front right corner on that house. you can see they put up a bunch of post because people have hit it hahaha.

I'll take some pictures next time I am there to get a better idea of the size of it etc with my car parked in the lane. I've been meaning to do this for months just always forget while I am there.

It can't be as bad as the downtown parking structure I park in. I've seen people scrape up the sides of little compact cars in there.

My Tacoma is the fourth vehicle in. I just take it slow and there isn't a problem.

I currently drive an older ford explorer and I have fit into some pretty tiny spots living in an apartment. If you can't make the turn in one swoop, then you use the same strategy as if you need to make it into a tiny spot. You start making as wide of a turn as you can, but overshoot the turn a little bit (towards the grey building) and stop. Then put it in reverse, turn your wheel all the way to the right so your nose starts swinging left. Then when you are facing straight down the alley, stop and put it in forward and go.

It looks doable to me. Tacoma's can turn a pretty tight radius in reverse. I've parallel parked mine in downtown Toronto on a busy street. Take it easy and slow until you're used to it.

Go to the dealer and take a tacoma on a test drive and tell the salesman the deciding factor will be parking at that location. He will let you try so he can make the sell, and you will know for sure without losing anything.

backing down the lane would be pretty odd. and if that was the case it would put me going the wrong way for backing into the spot. at that point I may was well enter from the top of the street where its an easy turn but a bitch to park.
