I'm not sure how people can comment on the reliability of a truck that's been out for under a year. As for resale check the charts. When you figure out the average initial discount versus the average resale it ends up being a few k over 5 years at most. Not a bad deal for a bigger truck if that fits your needs.

Basically it boils down to buying what you want and liking it for what it is. There's no need to speculate on what others have and defending against it. A tacoma has its merits and faults. Love it for what it is, if you dwell on what it isn't then that's not healthy or sane.

Just drove a V8 Ram 300 miles on the highway. Got 14.2 MPGs.

Exactly! I'm retired, so I've accumulated both a 2016 SR5 4x4 DCLB and my original owner 1998 Dodge RAM 2500 4x4 Cummins 12V! I daily drive the Tacoma mainly for convenience of size and comfort. I traded my 2011 Tacoma AC 2.7L MT in on the '16. Initially was set on another manual, but test drove an SR5 and was sold on the auto. Guess I'm lucky, I really have no issues with the auto by using a combo of S and D. I have the Dodge to tow a 3-horse trailer and haul tons of hay each year, as well as tow my 2800 pound boat. It gets 18 mpg empty, about 14 towing 3 tons of hay. If I had to choose (as I did for a long time!), I would have to go with the Dodge today to meet my minimum requirement of towing capability. I'm happy I don't have that choice, but it certainly lends itself to "what I want" vs. "what I need".

Damn, I didn't see that. Weird, I assumed the mpg was for double cab automatic.

Well, back to the optometrist for me. That's good, she's hot anyways :D

I was getting hit on and asked to "meet up" with too many TW members. Guess they didn't read the rest of my profile.

Here is the pic if you need it for later including below the waist :D (don't worry still PG13)

We did 300 miles this weekend including 30 off road miles and got 23 average. I don't see a problem here

Your reports are an exception to the average 2016 Tacoma 3.5L driver

With the quick 5 minute trips I make to and from work that are usually heavy footed and stop and go traffic at the base gate
    18-19.5

    Depends on the situation
