Gulf states DCLB TRD OR

Just joined the Tacoma owners here after trading out of a CTS-V and picked up my DCLB TRD OR last night after 6 or so months of working with GST reps to get it here. From what I was told GST isn't producing any more of these. Wondering if they told me that to justify the wait or if anyone else out there happens to have one produced in this region.

Anyone in the Gulf States region out there waiting on one of these, have one, or told anything different?

GST pre determines what models and trims and colors they are going to "STOCK/SELL" to the dealers in there region. If it is a model/trim/color that is not a "regular order configuration" we must do a "BOS" change or " SOVR". Basically try and do a build out change on something that you currently have in your pipeline or a special order. A Bos change is basically for color change/equipment change. If it's a model they don't normally bring in...Let's say a 7545 (TRDORSB manual) you have to do a sold order Vechicle request(SOVR) those are accepted on the 20th of each month and if it's something toyota builds we can get it if you have time to wait. My average time frame on SOVRs are approx 4 months

 

I appreciate the info jkilpatrick357. I've been in the car business for 8 years and have been at a volkswagen store for the past 4 years. The info that was given to me from the local Toyota store was spotty at best and didn't sound right based on my experience with several manufacturers. Either way, I'm psyched to finally have the truck!

 

It's taken me 3 years to figure out the tricks of ordering cars through GST. I was on the advisory counsel two years ago but throw in the towel last year because it went from listening to what we the dealers wanted to order(ie colors, models, options etc) to them telling us here's what's coming set your preferences accordingly

 

Interesting info as I live in Texas and am always curious how GST operates. When I purchased my 2016 in Oct I couldn't find any local dealer who could get a TRD off-road 4x4 with the JBL package. I ended up going to a dealer out west and it all worked out. Just curious if GST has finally allowed dealers to order JBL equipped trucks? From the info I gathered from dealers, it was this feature that couldn't be obtained from GST.

Which dealership are you at? Maybe it was just when they first came out, but each dealer I spoke with said it was the JBL that was not available. Glad to hear that is no longer the case cause it never made sense not to offer that feature in a region this big!

Yeah GST sucks! By the time my 7545 quicksand gets here it will be six months sense I ordered it. I came really close to just traveling out of this region to order it. My local dealer took good care of me on the deal so I agreed to wait for it.

 

I just looked on cars.com and didn't see any of the 932 trucks (non limited) that had JBL. I guess GST doesn't think folks in their region enjoy a quality sound system!

 

I got my TRD OR last September. I tried to get one with JBL, but they couldn't find one, and the local dealership here told me there may be some in late December of 2015 or middle January 2016. At the time there were NO Tacomas available either 2016 or 2015. They had to bring one in for me from another dealer. As of last week, I was told they still do not have ANY TRD models in stock; only 1 SR model. My dealership is Rockwall, Texas.

I wanted a TRD OR DCLB AT w/ premium in BBP which is not a combo GST makes. I was told by my local El Paso dealer even a compromise in that spec would not be deliverable until August 2016. I went to Colorado and got exactly what I wanted w/ a JBL upgrade in a month and a half. I could have gotten one 35 miles north in Las Cruces, NM rather than 850 miles away however they never called me back. I'd say GST has a few things to work out.

 

looks like there are 5 total on order in GST 2 with HH and 3 without..I have one coming with HH

 

I hope one of those three without is mine.
