I have the same bed bars. How will the annex on the Mt. Shasta work at this height? Will the tent be too low to the ground?

What happens if I put a CVT cover on the Smittybilt RTT?

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg Hey guys, wondering if I could get some input and local knowledge so that I can apply it to my upcoming trip.

I will be leaving southern Maine in early June and heading west where I will eventually stay. My main stops are going to be in Denver, Salt Lake City, Jackson hole, Lake Tahoe and up to British Columbia. I will be traveling with my two dogs and plan on staying in the RTT for the two months while exploring this route. At the end of this journey I plan on picking a destination where I can find an engineering job and be very close to the mountains to enjoy some serious skiing/snowmobiling.

Any scenic lookouts or local input on camping areas would be greatly appreciated. Also any input on location would be great as well, mind you I am 31, single and love the outdoors.

Also any tips, tricks or pointers on this type of cross-country trek would be awesome! Thanks in advance.
    Bobby.

My friend has one and he says they have good customer service. He's had 2 of the covers rip (due to other trucks getting to close for comfort) and he's gotten a new one fairly quickly. But any RTT is better than a ground tent IMO

Finally finished wiring in some lights for the RTT! Hooked the wire directly to the battery, down the frame, and then up through the small bed cubby hole on the passenger side (that I'd previously put a lock on). Have two plugs coming from it so I hook up one set of lights in the annex and the other in the tent. Everything is plug and play with switches, so when I'm not using I just unplug, wrap up the wires, and lock away in the bed compartment. Looks kind of purple in the pic...just the very white LEDs.

You'll have to get a bed rack that puts the weight directly to the bed bolts like the BAMF one

I would just have a fab person build off of that bed cage. Don't know which pic is more accurate: the one you posted or your sig. But the one you posted can potentially have support on those angled bars. Or the one in your sig can have support go to the rear bumper if you don't rock a tailgate. Preferably something with a quick disconnect so that you don't have all that weight back there all the time.

Just put the tailgate on. Don't think I'm ready for a rtt yet. Wanted something more like this but was gonna do the bar by the tailgate going across the bed and have the front mounting to the bedcage.
