Versteeg Sucks. I was a fan of him because my last name is similar to his but after the hawks brought him back I was like "get rid of old luggage"

 

I've never minded him. He left the Leafs because he didn't like Wilson which is fine because no one likes to play for him. He's a capable bottom 9 forward and he creates some chances for any line.

Leafs bring Nylander up. Let's see how he adjusts.

Hmm, sounds like a comment from a fan of a team that might not be around once they regress.

 

For whatever it's worth I'm guessing that the Winnik trade is basically for a buyout player (Laich), a decent defense prospect, and another 2nd round pick. All for a UFA.

The Leafs now have a dozen draft picks in 2016. Eight of which are in the first four rounds. For what the situation is, likely finishing in last place, they've made the most out of what they have.

Yup. The Leafs will contend for last for at least one more year. Pile on. It's all good. The team is finally making a real transition to a younger revamped core of players through the draft and sound development. I'm happy as a fan.

 

BTW has anyone seen the line graph of the Leafs collapse in the standings over time last year compared to the Canadiens collapse this year? It's hauntingly similar.

The similarity? Lack of goal tending. I'd be worried if I was the Habs. Basically, minus Price, you have a roster that did the exact same thing as the Leafs did last year. Yikes.

The guy I used to share an office at my last job with was a Ducks fan. We had some good times bugging each other but I have nothing against the Ducks. Someone has to knock the Kings out this year and the Ducks or Hawks are the likely candidates.

Speaking of which have you checked out the new Hawks forward lines with the trades? They are going to be hard to beat come playoff time.

 

I like Anaheim's depth.
I just don't want to see BB get impatient and start shuffling lines like he's known to do.

EDIT: I don't remember if I read it here or heard it on the radio but they nailed the Ladd pick up. In the West it was really 50% you wanted the player on your time and 50% you just didn't want any competition to pick him up.

 

The first round in the west should be good.

AZ is getting some good prospects too... Not sure how I feel about that but Tangs has been looking pretty old this year, so short term the trade seems good for the Avs
