    You left out a picture of Turdo. If the Americans are short of Liberal Elitists we can always send done Trudeau. He has the arrogance of his father with the brains of his mother. God help this country. At least some Americans recognize they have cause to be concerned. According to Trudeai it is just "sunny skies".

    I've found my mpg is totally in my hands, living in the bay area there are plenty of hills and traffic. If I'm patient and milk it I've hit 23mpg avg, usually closer to 21 and one tank was 19 (put your foot in it and mpg goes down quick).

    I've never been able to coax more than 15 out of the 5.7.

    Agreed. My 2013 5.7 L I had for work was lucky to get 12-13 mpg on average.

    Idk how much the 8 speed makes a difference in mine, but I always got over 16 with my dads 2013 with the 6 speed. I get 15-17 city with mine and that's with a heavy foot. I love hearing the 5.7 roar

    Don't get me wrong, it sounds great and certainly gets up and goes, but, I swear I could watch the fuel gauge drop. There's a HUGE difference between 13 MPGs and 18 MPGs.

    My taco also get's better gas mileage than BMW M3 did with it's V8 and that was premium gas.

    Again, agreed on all points.
    I like the sounds of Fords 5.0 L over everything else in a truck to be honest. Strictly my opinion though. All V8's though sound better than our Tacoma though.

    The 8-speed makes a couple of mpgs at least.

    I had a 2011 Sierra Denali with 6.2L and full time All Wheel Drive. That truck had some gitty-up.... I averaged about 16 to 17 on freeway driving 75 to 80. My 16 tacoma gets about 18 to 19 if I'm doing 75+

    Around town Denali was getting 9 to 10mpg

    If I drive 55 to 60 mph on relatively flat desert highway I'm getting about 21 to 22 mpg average. Speed limits on interstates in AZ is 75. Semi Trucks are doing at least 65 to 70. Drive 55 to 60 and you're going to get plenty of one finger salutes and may have someone try run you off the road...it's just not ideal at all. Slow drivers cause a lot of lane changing and increases risk from my experience

    I know I am throwing a wrench in this thread but on my UG I am averaging 20 mpg best of any midsize truck I have owned. I don't drive any different then before some highway and some city I was amazed when it did not drop in the city.

    Average on my 2016 DCLB auto is 22+. I averaged 17 in my 2013 F-150. Don't see what all the fuss is about.

    I'd say the new Colorado Denali and the existing Limited Tacoma are the ultimate grandpa trucks. Both have tons of features, and a way higher price, than most people need while ignoring the needs or pricing of the average midsized buyer. They are both trucks tuned towards older, sore, broken, and dangerous drivers who need every comfort and safety amenity on their truck known to man along with smaller footprint to reduce their number of accidents per year while attempting to park, drive, or run over people at a fair.

    I think the fuss is because people actually believe the EPA numbers on the evoboost and other full size trucks. Real world tells a different story

    The Ecoboost reacts the most to the driver out of any engine. If you drive it like a normal person it's easy to get good mileage out of the 2.7 L. I find most people though love that high torque launch that both the 2.7 L and 3.5 L Ecoboost engines are capable of which toasts off fuel economy. It takes gas to make power. Not to mention once you warm up the turbos the ECU goes to a very rich tune on the Ecoboosts to keep everything extra safe. Again, the more you drive the Ecoboost like a 16 year old drives a Mustang the worse mileage you get out of that truck.

    All of that being said it's still a crying shame that there isn't a boosted option in the Tacoma and I'd bet you that it's 100% because Toyota wanted to maximize returns on the Tacoma hence they went with the 2 GR. I hope Ford puts an Ecoboost engine in the Ranger. Maybe that will force Toyota's hand.

    Fuelly.com - no specific cab or transmission config - 2.7 litre ecoboost - 106 trucks - 608,363 miles tracked - 18.0 mpg combined average
    EPA = 20 mpg combined

    2016 Tacoma
    Fuelly.com - Access Cab Auto - 3.5 litre - 111 trucks - 298,166 miles tracked - 18.5 mpg combined average
    EPA = 20 mpg combined

    I'm thinking the 0.5 mpg difference in Ford pretty much washes out due to the different sized cab configurations on the Fuelly site where I went with the most fuel efficient version of the v6 Tacoma.

    I would say that at least for the 2.7 l Ford the EPA values are no more inaccurate than the Tacoma's. Other's may disagree.

    I would agree. There is only 200 lbs worth of difference between the trucks and you gain a ton of power from that engine over the 3.5 L.

    This is why people like me keep bringing up Toyota being cheap. If Ford drops the 2.7 L in the Ranger this whole conversation will be mute. Better towing and power while getting V6 Tacoma or better mpgs.
