It blows that Calgary was forced to do that. One of the reasons the flames looked so bad early on was because Russell was out. This deal hurts the Flames until Hamilton lives up to his hype.

Here's a thought, don't hang around the opposing teams net after stop in play ?! It was obvious what the quacks had in mind. Yet, when cheeeech & co. showed they could go same route ... all of the sudden it's not funny anymore.

I don't quite understand why Sutter kept the leash on ? I know you want to stay outta the box but with the horrible missed calls, at some point you have to stand up for yourself.

I'm guessing had Sutter known the outcome things would have been different, like this dork (pic) for instance should have got a fractured eye socket and busted nose when he knocked Cliffs helmet off. Instead nothing was called. FTR, that's a punch me face if there ever was one.

 

Hmm, I thought Russell was out too. Either way I think Russell is an excellent D-man and this really hurts the great core Calgary was building on the back end. They had to do something though before they pay their young guns Kane and Toews money in a couple of years.
