it's my understanding that these bumpers total your car in higher speed collisions, due to transferring the impact to the frame, etc. Is this true? Sure looks it!

Imo if you hit something hard enough to bed a bumper like that, the truck would be a loss anyways

Oh dear! That's sad to see, but it looks like in this case the bumper did some good. hard to tell, but it looks like this was rolled, or at least flopped on one side...

Is it a moving violation to have these bumpers on your vehicle? The only reason I ask is that you are removing crumple zones from your car which could potentially harm you, but more importantly that car you are colliding with. Not that I am against them...just curious.

Man, to absorb an impact like that I bet the driver got a hell of a sudden deceleration, too. Does a bumper like that compromise the effectiveness of the stock bumper/frame/crush zone/airbag safety design?

ARB bumpers have crumple zones in the mounts

ARB is one of the few, if only, bumper manufacturer that claims they take all of the stock vehicle's crush/crash zone and airbag system into consideration to make sure everything functions as the saftey sytems were originally designed.
