Get a roll of masking tape, a good marker, and label everything clearly that you unplug, no you won't remember where it went, trust me on that. :p
If you don't know what it is, label one end, and then the other with the same thing (plug A, Plug B, etc...)

Get some small cans and keep all the nuts/bolts together for their specific location.
IE: exhaust bolts in one can, label the can
Bell housing bolts in another can, label the can, etc...
When it comes time to go back in, this will save hours of time.

    Yes
This so much, though I've found that making tape gets really dirty and hard to read, don't really know an alternative though

On that. I have the engine cracked open already and and those are organized. I do know where those plugs go since they can only plug into one place. Ill have a box of ziplocks ready to go to organize the rest of the bolts. And start taking pictures of all the connections as well as labeling.

Have you ever helped someone move and when you showed up they hadn't started to pack yet?

Do you have any random unused plugs in the engine bay? That's why I suggest marking them. Mine has several unused and they could cause some confusion. Otherwise if you're comfortable with it that's cool.

Or they tell you that your doing something else and when you show up they ask you to do a quick chore and it takes all day...

I have very little knowledge about what I am doing which is why I am asking for help. Unfortunately, until that weekend I won't have a ton of time to work on the truck due to school. This is the first time I will have even witnessed an engine pulled so I will apologize if I don't have everything prepped perfectly and ready to go. I am being open with what is actually being done and no one is being forced to come .

Not that I have seen but I will label the rest from here on out.

    I got one for ya..
A singles website date I had a couple years back, wasn't really into her after meeting her in person but went to dinner anyway, gotta eat right?
Anyway, I'm driving her home and she asks if I would mind stopping at Walmart so she can get her kids some Halloween candy. No biggie I thought, couple bags of candy won't take long.
Bitch grabbed a cart on the way in and proceeded to do her shopping.

In lieu of tape, you can use colored zip ties to show what plugs into what... I used this trick since tape does get dirty and can come off easy...

I bought a pack of like 10 different colors and when I ran out of plugs to color match, when it came time to repeat colors I would either color the end with a sharpie or cut them the same length to identify them

    Yes
I like this idea, you could also use two per wire when needed and color code that way

    This.

I've been used for dinner more then a few times in the online dating world; it's pretty clear when someone meets me and they just aren't interested.
