    @Jtegen11

    I don't mean to hijack your thread but what makes these batteries (Odyssey, Optima, the one @manethon linked to above) better, or more suitable, than a marine deep cycle battery?

    To explain it simply batteries can be made to be "hp"or "torque" specific relative to their size. This is a generalization though.

    Hp numbers in engines generally correlate to duration...you can go faster longer.
    Torque numbers in engines generally correlate to acceleration...you can get to speed faster from a dead stop.

    Using that example a marine deep cycle battery is meant to be an "hp" battery...you can run it on voltage for longer periods without charging.

    Batteries made for car audio are made to be a "torque" battery...The maximum amount of amps delivered as fast as possible in bursts.

    Depending on what you are doing with your audio system will determine the batteries needed. Generally agms are used in place of deep cycle batteries (in car audio) to get around the charging cycles without the benefits of capacity in terms of off charging usage. Agms are also fully sealed for better mounting options compared to acid batteries.

    I can cheat a little on the width, but I can't cheat on the length. The fuse box will be in the way.

    Got some more stuff in. Power cable, I used all stinger HPM hyperflex cable. Distribution block, stinger SHD 821 with two 1/0 imputes and four 4 gauge outputs. RCA'S, stinger 8000 series silver plated. Battery terminal block, stinger SHT 301 digital battery terminal with two 1/0 gauge outputs. I already have a 150 amp circuit breaker which I'm going to reuse. I got another 200 amp circuit breaker (200 was cheaper than 150 of Amazon?). Went with a HELA 50 amp relay for all my remote wires. Still waiting on the ABS plastic to come in. I don't want anything mounted on carpet. I'm going to anchor the plastic on top of the carpet, then put washers between the plastic and amps to create a gap for heat dispersion.image.jpgimage.jpg

    So I had the day off from work due to the rain. I got a bunch of things done. I'm not to sure about the way I payed out my wires ( it looked great on paper when I drew it up, but once I hooked it all up it kinda looks like a rats nest). I'm going to put the plastic under my distribution blocks and zip tie everything in groups to see if I can get it to look a little better. Here's some pics, let me know what you think.image.jpgimage.jpg image.jpgimage.jpg image.jpgimage.jpg image.jpgimage.jpg

    So I have nick named this system the nightmare system, it has had issue after issue. As it stands now it is finally near completion. I am just waiting for my 6.5 speaker to be sent back to me, that's number 6 blown speaker since this project has started. I also am sending out my arc audio amp today. having issues with the RCA jacks, every time the cables move slightly it makes cracking and popping noises, tried different cables with same outcome. once that amp is back and put in the system will at last be complete. Ill post up some picks once I have taken a shower, it has been a long day. Thank you everyone who has followed this thread. Huge thanks to @Mr. Marv for dealing with me so many times during this crazy install.

    Tow package, LED interior lighting, led low beams, led fog lights, led licence plate lights, OEM bed mat, OEM mud flaps, OEM chrome raised tailgate letter inserts, nerf bars, AVS ventshades. Complete Kicker audio system (4 channel amp, mids and tweets in the front, 2 ways in the back, 2 10 inch comp rt subs, Zxsum8, alpine pdx 1.600 boxes and amp rack by Mr Marv), Pop & Lock, Mobtown locking bed storage doors, Bilstein 5100s, Katzkin Leather interior, Redline Hoodstruts, Backflip.
    This all looks way crazier than my system install and I have over 60 hours in it. Pretty much done other than the fine tuning.

    I got my boxes from Mr Marv as well. What a super nice guy and a true craftsman.

    Can't wait to see it all done Joe! This is the wrong time of year to be doing this here in AZ though. So freaking hot still.

    Yeah, the system would have been fine, but there were so many issues with components. One of my L1pro R2's had an issue right out of the box. Then my audio shop blew the clarus tweeters somehow. While I was driving home pissed off about that and the fact they made my box spl instead of SQ, my L3 blew. Then my 4 channel Phoenix gold amp went out shortly after that. Now my 6.5 LE and my 2 channel arc amp are having issues. Hopefully there are no more issues after this. All I will need to do is take it back to my shop so we can tune the entire thing again. Fingers crossed.
