What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Dipped my wheels. Figured this would work till I buy new wheels. Thoughts?

 

Finally got some lighting in the tool box.

 

POS left me stranded... lol strut will not come out and took 2hrs to get the freaking top control arm bolt out.. I swear my Subaru was never this hard to replace the struts and upper control arms.

 

@Ztextreme I ended up getting about 3.25" with the dakars. Which is what I wanted since I'll be adding a bed rack and a tent (hopefully sooner than later) and I expect it to settle a little.

Forgot to post this this weekend but got 3" lift. And today I ordered new break pads. Will go on this week

 

So the third gen decal inserts fit on the tailgate lip on our second gens?

 

Haha Yeah I have really debated whether to do it black or not. I don't want it to be too much black. I'd love to have it painted the same color as the truck though but don't want to pay to have it painted lol. If they sold Pyrite Mica in a rattle can I'd buy it!

 

(This weekend) Put a 3" lift, new UCAs (Light Racing) and 285/75/16 BFG KO2s on and I'm in love with this truck now!!!

 

No pic since it's something simple. Had grey WeatherTechs that I had purchased from a TW member. Thought I'd like the look since my interior was grey,even though my carpeting was black. Purchased black ones as well end of last week also from a TW member and got them today. Like the black look better. Going to takes pics of the grey ones hopefully tomorrow and put them up for sale.

 

Do you have to run spacers to clear the tire from the UCA's with the stock rims?

 

Got my Pelfreybilt bumper and Smittybilt winch installed today sort of. Ran out of time and didn't get the synthetic line spooled. @Kyitty still need to adjust the bumper up a little higher and another small issue is that the holes in the Pelfreybilt bumper are too small to fit the supplied bolts for the Smittybilt fair lead. I'll be picking up slightly smaller bolts tomorrow.

 

Looking good so far! If you don't mind I'd love to hear what size bolts (and how many) you need for the Smitybilt. Might save me some time if I can buy them in advance.

I've got 887's on my DCLB now.. Plus skid plates. Curious to see how much yours settles with the weight. Thinking I may need 886's.

Is your bumper steel or aluminum?

 

I will let you know what bolt size I end up picking up. You only need 2 bolts and nuts (one for each side of the fair lead).

I went with the steel bumper. I just couldn't convince myself that aluminum would be as good/strong as steel. I'm curious to see how it settles as well.

 

I went steel too for the same reason.

Can't wait to get my bumpers.

 

I have Light Racing Upper Control Arms and the tires do not rub anything full lock either way forwards or reverse

 

The lighting coming off of that bald dome, really makes those emblems pop!


I can say that, as I too suffer from shiny dome syndrome.
