    It could be the passages that your nerves pass through are "too small" after you aggravated the nerves and they're now rubbing your vertebrae.

    Bulging or herniated disc

    These are just a few of the possibilities.

    I have bulging discs and mostly have dull pain but can very easily get that sharp paralyzing pain that can last for weeks. Only an MRI will give you the correct answer. An x-ray wont tell you squat.
