Just installed headlights and fogs on my DCSB TRD Sport and the only thing I will point out is that the passenger side headlight required the polarity reverse cable or whatever. I blew 2 fuses before realizing what those were for... Other than that, very pleased with quality and look, can't wait for darkness to see the difference.

Just to confirm the polarity connectors are required? Is that both the head light and fogs?

For me, it was ONLY the PASSENGER HEADLIGHT.

I trimmed a little bit of the tab on the bulb to get it to fit inside the fog housing.

As others have stated and shown, these don't seem to be much brighter than the halogens. Just a different color temperature.

You guys are spending $100 and swapping out perfectly good parts just for blue light rather than yellow? To each his own I guess. I'm saving my money for actual upgrades.

I noticed a difference just from inside the garage, not sure what you've seen. I prefer to have the cleanest light versus a yellowish light. The LEDs also appear to be brighter just from bench testing. I won't know personally til later today.

I of course hope that they are indeed brighter. :)

I had the same issue with mine. Took a bit to figure it out.

The lights are much better for seeing at night. They definitely don't throw light as far as an HID set up but they're also not blinding everyone. They send a lot more light out than the stock ones. Makes a big difference for seeing the road at night.

Just ordered this combo as I, too, am not so worried about having the brightest fogs out there so much as having clean, matching lights. Thanks!

Front window tint match and windshield strip. Rubber bed mat. Running boards. Console insert. Husky floor liners. Exterior LED conversion with Diode Dynamic and Opt7. Low profile window visors.
These two cables came with the Opt7 FluxBeam kit ($99 on Amazon)
    Daytime comparison
Up close DRL vs Opt7 lows and fogs for color comparison (daytime)

Overall this was a very simple install. I spent a lot more time than necessary trying to stage things out for this post. I also spent more time than probably was necessary dinkering with the wiring under the hood trying to figure out the best way to zip-tie and "clean up" the space. Then editing the pics of course took a bit :) Hopefully this is some help for those of you who are thinking of making this change. I think this hue of light in general is much more fitting for this truck. It also satisfies one of my main objectives which was to find a color match for the fogs and DRL for dawn/dusk driving.

Very well done my man, very well done. I tried my hand at convincing these lights early on but you did an outstanding job. Mad props to your time and effort!!

I think i successfully made a "build page". Take a look if you're interested. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/louies-build-2016-trd-off-road-double-cab.417631/
That's a huge help. I'm sure that took some time with all the pics. I can tell you it is much appreciated. Looks great. Thank you very much.

Seems like I read somewhere that the low beams should turn off when the high beams turn on... Is this right?
I put in the OPT7's tonight and the lows stay on with the highs.

Should be the fog's that turn off when the highs are turned on. That is the law in VA and should be around the country.

Sensational post. Bravo chap. I've just placed my order for the fluxbeam and h11 opt7 fogs.

**edit** read that RNTACO used the polarity adapter in both headlights and probably never got the issue with blown fuse like other member had encountered.

OK, must have got it confused. I've noticed the yellow high beam ON TOP of the pure white of the low beam OPT7's when the high beams are on and it made me question it. Will probably get some Phillips Xtreme Vision (4000k) bulbs for the highs due to their better distance.
    Thanks!

    Heat?
Just heard the tiny fans going... It'll be interesting to see how they operate when it's 80 degrees. Easy to chill now when the temps max out at 50.

Heat as far as in headlight enclosure - if it could melt. If they will over heat? Longevity? If the fans go out?

LEDs run WAY cooler than halogens. The cooler fan is for the little circuit board I think.
They appear to be holding up very well with everything that I have read.
BTW, nothing will be melting. If the circuit board gets too hot, the light could burn out.
You have a better chance melting something with halogens
