Just dropped the icons off for rebuild. He's going to mess with the valving for me a bit after telling him my concerns and driving patterns and showing him my Pismo videos. He just did something similar to his from what it sounded like mine are doing. Should have back end of the day tomorrow.

I was super happy hitting whoops last weekend after gaining some ride ht by installing some longer shackles. As shocks need rebuilding I am definitely going to adjust valving, but down south motorsports did a damn good job with the valving before I could give any feedback. My problem before was bottoming and bucking through whoops with the rear, but adding that 1.5" of ride ht with longer shackles made a noticeable difference. Gives the suspension more time to do it's job before bottoming. Now just need some air bumps for those bigger hits :D

Total chaos lower long travel arms cost about 800$ a piece last time I looked, set of Hiemed upper I wanna say are like 700$? Hence I'm building my own for my 3.5", cost of materials is about 200$ for 1" uniball,3/4" rod ends and 1.25" DOM

Mine still needs better valving. As my compression is set to 10/12 right now but I think revalving to 15/12 will do the job just fine for the rear as long as I can fit an extra 80-100lbs in the bed (usually an additional spare tire helps). I am running 10" stroke with hydro bumps for the rear as well. What was your valving from DSM if you don't mind me asking?

I don't think extended shackles would work for me, as I alreasy have a notable amount of rake going on as it is. An extra inch and a half would make it look even more funky.

Reduce your rebound dampening....leaf springs are slow droopers as it is.
I ran 15 comp, 8 reb in my old setup and was pretty dang sweet, running 12-15 comp and 8 reb in my bypasses with the rebound full open .....

Really? I would had figured leafs were super quick rebounders so you needed higher rebound settings on the shocks to slow things down. I'll have to give that a shot! Hell I think I still may have 8 rebound discs from fox lying around somewhere. I'll have to look and see if I have 15's for the compression stack.

Are the stock bushings for the leaf packs garbage or what? I would had always figured the arc of the pack themselves were what either accelerated or slowed the rebound on them.

All bushings slow down spring movement. You are sandwiching the pivots with a flexible cushion.

Learn something new every day. What do you think about the stockers compared to poly replacements? Good as is or would poly be a better fit?

Quoted you because you seem to have an answer every now n again. What valving would you use for an FOA 14" shock if you were to not run expo but might do the occasional hauling of a trailer like a boat or ATV. Maybe a roof tent in the future. I'm going to do a shackle flip and longer shackles with a mount relocate, and shock mount relocate. Would 5150s be good for a crawler? I'm probably not as hard on my stuff as some members but I rough it up a bit. Also, resi or no resi? How necessary are these.

not a clue what valving spec they put in. I'll find out though, if not for you, for my own knowledge. but i'm running the bamf relocation kit and 12" rears, and wheelers bumps. after setting my new shackles at about 1.5" of lift, at ride ht i've got about 6.5 inches of shock shaft showing, so slightly more uptravel than down. but like i said, went through a smaller set of whoops at speed and was super happy

I don't have a second gen. Nor do I have anything stock in terms of bushings. If it's a loaded rubber bushing, it's only use is in the third gen forum.
