bottom line is the 2016 needs a reprogram to increase off the line acceleration. Nobody buys a truck to rev to 9k all day. Yes the ECT helps but that still requires you to mash the pedal to get it to drop gears which defeats the purpose of daily driving acceleration.

You are correct that I have no clue about the pickup world as I've never owned a pickup truck. I would like to buy one. As for the acceleration, that's what I was asking about. Perhaps the example I test drove just wasn't warmed up, or maybe just not broken in yet. I have no idea, but it felt really slow.

I have better things to do with my life than to troll a message forum in which I don't know anyone. LOL

Really like mine. Tacoma's rock. I will always have one. I don't think I'll ever need a bigger truck. Most people that pile into my truck and go somewhere with us are impressed with my 2013 Prerunner. Rides great. Looks great. Tows my toys. I look forward to getting a Gen 3 someday.

^Exactly. I test drove both a manual and an auto 2016. The auto just felt really sluggish.
