I did my 2015 and they came right off without an issue. A little heat from about 10 inches away and some Goo Gone and elbow grease.

3M Eraser Wheel. Worth every penny and great tool to always have around. Been using the one I have for years. Just recently removed a painted pin stripe off of an Explorer...Like it was never there. If it is adhesive or some sort of residue you have there it should do the trick.

I just debadged my truck yesterday and I had the same lines. I just used some turtle wax rubbing compound and slowly rubbed them away with my finger, then I just used some wax to make sure it was smooth. Its almost like its an extra layer of clear coat that you just have to blend in.

For those saying that you shouldn't debadge a 5 year old truck, I completely disagree. I debagged my 07 a couple months ago (original badges) and with a little goo gone and a lot of elbow grease, the residue came off fully.

Water spots come from water etching the paint at the edge of the drop of water. I suppose it is possible over time that evaporating water etches the clear coat in the shape of the emblem. Careful use of rubbing compound should allow it to be corrected if WD 40 does not.

WD40 should take that off but if its doing nothing to help remove it then you'll need to move on to a polish or cutting compound. Preferably you'll want to use a machine and pad to remove it but you could do it by hand; the results just may not be the same.

If it was my truck I'd use my Porter Cable 7424 with an Orange Pad and Meguiar's #205 compound. If #205 doesn't cut the damage out then you can goto a more aggressive compound like Meguiar's #105 and then follow back up with #205. Both of these are available now over the counter at AutoZone.

Finally remember to apply a coat of Wax/Sealant/Silica Coating after all your work; even if all you did was use goo-gone or WD40.

Not a question of residue but of ghosting.

Sorry if I'm too late. I just did mine. Take some floss to get them off. Then wd40 and work at it with a micro fiber then after it looks good use window cleaner and boom like new

I debadged the 08 in 2012 and it had similar looking krust leftover. As has been posted, give the WD40 a shot. It got every bit of that stuff like in the pic off. Had to work for it but it did do the trick and no harm to paint and no ghost image left in the clear. Then waxed with rest of truck.

Wet sand with 1500+ grit, or 2500 if you are scared. If scratches are deep, may have to go lower grit. Finish off with buffing on wax and you should be good

Nothing much. I haven't been bitten by the mod bug. A little plasti dip. And a set of Wet Okole seat covers with gun pouch.

    ?? please elaborate ??
I was deathly afraid to wet sand, got a body specialists to help me and it was pretty easy. Discovered too high a grit and you will sand forever, why so rude?

Wet sanding is commonly used in the autobody/paint business. It's used to reduce orange peal, remove imperfections, and flatten the paint. It would also likely work in this instance.

He was trying to be helpful. It appears as though he knows very well what he's talking about. Perhaps you should educate yourself on the subject of wetsanding before insulting people.
