Hey guys. Sorry if it's been asked already, but do you know if there is a way (like plastidip) to affordably match the Tacoma Magnetic Gray Metallic so I can get rid of that chrome? What were your solutions?

    Thanks in advance!

I was actually going to mention this in the quicksand thread. A black bumper would look good on that color Tacoma.

Yeah, I actually just saw one with a matte black. Looked really good. If anyone has done this, what products did you select from plastidip… soooo many options!

Great idea on the black bumper for the MGM color. I'm going to put the black TOYOTA letters on the tail gate and changing the rear bumper inserts to matt black to match the rest of the parts there I think would look great. Any one know how to remove those bumper inserts??

I know this isn't a third gen, but still I was sick of the chrome so I just plastidipped it black. It matches good with the red IMO

not sure how much luck you'll have matching plasti dip with MGM - could just do it in black, i did mine in like 10 minutes. Or head to an autozone and find some duplicolor matched MGM paint and scrub the plasti dip idea if you're set on color matching

I'd just spend 5 bucks on plasti dip and spray them, then you can just peel it off and have chrome if you ever feel like it or end up selling the truck

Mine are already MGM - I have a scratch some fine person rubbed my corner with her car door! Too bad for her - she had a huge dent down the whole side of her SUV both doors and both fenders. I have a small scratch but Its enough to need to sand then paint. I have all the proper paint to do this including the base coat and the clear coat. Was thinking it's going to look great black. I used the 2015 MGM...

Completely off-topic... but the more pics I look at, the more bad-ass the '16s look from the rear/side-rear. I just wish they didn't make the nose quite so long.

I would paint them instead of derping them. Just make sure you take the time in prep to make sure the paint sticks to plastic.

Message to FIREGUY88 did you remove the bumper caps for painting, if so, how are they removed?
