    It's a great deal for the money and cool that a company would produce a vehicle like that. Killer deal when considering it carries a factory warranty.

    New Tacoma = $30,000
    Front LT with shocks = $5,000
    Rear LT with proper bed cage for shocks, driveshaft modifications, etc. = $5,000-$6,000
    Factory warranty = good luck with that.

    It's a cool vehicle and a completely different animal than our trucks.

    As already pointed out, already an extensive thread on this. That being said, I still think it's pretty cool. For what you get, and considering it's a full size truck it's really not a bad price at all. A nice F150 FX4 will run you around $35k so for this to start at $38k isn't bad. Will run over $40k if you opt for the 400+ hp motor, but still not bad IMO. I'm sure people wouldn't bitch about the price if Toyota released a Tundra based truck like this for the same price haha.

    I'd never actually buy the Raptor though since I have zero need for a truck like that and I'm not going to buy something just for the novelty of having it.

    ^ I dont see a caged rear on the ford?? And the ford is running a cheezy 2 leaf pack w/ helper in the rear

    Just as capable and its a toyota who the f needs a warranty You know damn well if your mobbing and break something ford will fight every step of the way...

    You're not going to get the same performance from a mid-travel setup on a Tacoma and you can't fit long-travel shocks on our trucks without either a bed cage or at least some trick shock hoops. At best you could get around 10" of travel with 1.25" uniball UCAs, RaceRunner shocks and Light Racing Jounce Shocks as the stock bumpstops are a limiting factor in up-travel.

    You're looking at this from a brand-centric perspective and not considering functionality.

    #1 its a ford so I say fuck that...#2 Our trucks fully loaded cost at the very most 30k...imagine the mods you could do with that extra 10 grand :)

    Edit: Long travel, wheels, tires, fiber glasswork etc...so far thats 4,500 bucks lol

    You're miles off. Seriously.

    Front LT kit is $3k. New coilovers are $1000. Tires are $900 if you don't buy a spare. Wheels add another $500. Fiberglass is $400. That's $5800 and you haven't installed it or even touched the rear yet.

    I went to the ford website and saw that the f150 had 11" of front travel and 14" in the rear. That doesnt seem too hard to do with mid travel on the tacoma. The ford weighs 1000 more than the tacoma so even if you get 10" (camburg brags 11" for the tacoma) your only 1 in less travel on a truck much lighter.

    What makes you say the ford is true Long Travel? Yes it has larger a arms than stock and fox shocks but 11" is long travel???

    Of course, and I do love the Tacoma. It's just that after having built a truck to do what this is designed for out of the box, I realize what goes into it from both a design and cost perspective.

    It's a very niche vehicle but hopefully it'll prove that there's a market for more factory offroad performance trucks. The Tacomas could be very capable if Toyota put some effort into it.
