Do any of you guys work for Oracle? I have gotten hit up 3 times (2 times on LinkedIn) to go interview with them for 3 Data Centers they are building here and Apparently I know a Executive there that gave the recruiters my work email but can't think of who it would be.

    @Aw9d

What do you recommend for sub enclosure?

Looking at the Dayton sub with like 1-1.2k amp.

I used to work with Oracle a lot. It's a nightmare unless it's been changed over the years.

Sub should have specs for what boxes it recommends and sizes. Build one, don't buy.

Edit: Looks like a big ass box.

Optimum Cabinet Size (determined using BassBox 6 Pro High Fidelity suggestion)
    • Sealed Volume2.8 ft.³
    • Sealed F334 Hz
    • Vented Volume5.58 ft.³
    • Vented F317 Hz

Cabinet recommendations: • Sealed 2.0 cubic ft. (net internal) with 1 lbs. of Acousta-Stuf polyfill, f3 of 36 Hz with a 0.707 Qtc alignment
    • Vented 4.0 cubic ft. (net internal, not including driver or port volume) tuned to 20 Hz with a 10" wide by 1.5" high slot port that is 25" long, which yields an f3 of 19 Hz

    Oh damn. Hahaha.
    It also says:
Cabinet recommendations: • Sealed 2.0 cubic ft. (net internal) with 1 lbs. of Acousta-Stuf polyfill, f3 of 36 Hz with a 0.707 Qtc alignment
    • Vented 4.0 cubic ft. (net internal, not including driver or port volume) tuned to 20 Hz with a 10" wide by 1.5" high slot port that is 25" long, which yields an f3 of 19 Hz

But I don't think I wanted to go that big. Do you think the 10" might be enough? I'll have to measure my truck out again.

Cabinet is a basic box. The other one is a specific design that software determines to be the best. Most likely the optimum cabinet size is going to be the best. But it's HUGE.

Difference between a 10 and 12 is just cone space. It's ALL about the box build. I wouldn't go smaller then what they are saying to build at as you'll choke the sub due to lack of airspace. It's a big ass box for a small sub buuuuuuut they are tuning it to 19hz which is way low in my book. I tune for 32hz (or as close as I can get) for any sub that isn't going SPL. SPL = 60hz.

Most likely these are specs for home use. I didn't read much, I just copied the info about box size.

I would assume it's for home audio with the low tuning. I typically tune the sundowns to 30 for me, and 33 for Sam. I'll have to do some research and what not to see if I like the size and everything.

I really don't have an interest in Leaving my current gig. I make a lot already, 3-4 days off a week, have like 8 weeks of vacation, and travel discounts. Pretty sure a legacy company like Oracle can't touch that. I agreed to talk with them on the phone tomorrow just to get them from hounding me and find out who over there is wanting me on the team.

If you want to hit me up on D3 for xbone I'll give you a bunch of gear, gold or whatever you want and or if you get tired of the game i can give you some modded gear to run the threw on the highest torment and pretty much never die unless you go full retard lol, I'll have to install the game still and try to remember how to dupe them again but just takes like 5 mins.

I imported last night and was able to solo a t6 level 25 greater rift on my legit Crusader holy shotgun build. I was surprised that build was still very effective since i haven't played in 8 months.

I stayed away from modded gear until i went into hardcore. My hardcore equipment isnt nearly as good as my legit gear on my barb and crusader though. By the time i was doing hardcore i was over d3. Let see how i like playing it again on the one. Im just killing time until Doom anyways

I figure I would throw this out to you guys. Talked with HR from Oracle on the phone. They are looking to hire Data Center Techs and Engineers for 3 Lab DC environments. They are going to need help with Rack and Stack, cabling and the config of some things. They use Linux/Unix mostly and want someone that been in CISCO command line before also. The pay is ~ $70k if you are experienced in the software troubleshooting, hardware troubleshooting and config in a DC environment as well as have good recommendations. If any of you are looking and this seems like a fit I'll link you the job and the lead contact.

Soo... @Aw9d how do I get past this? I'm looking to seal my doors up and finish my audio tomorrow. That rod is my door latch. Do I just seal around it the best I can? 20160307_135234.jpg

If you want to seal it cut sheet metal and some sound deadener on both sides of it. Cut the metal to the shape of the hole but a bit larger so it overlaps. Silicone the metal to the door. Then you'll cut out a section for the door latch to slide in and out with a dremel tool. Then sound deaden over all of it.

Hm ok. I'll see what I can do with the door latch. Doesn't seem too hard though.

You could also use wire loom if you want to go the quick and easy route.
