Also I went to change the air filter with just a cheap car quest stock filter... and I think my truck had a K&N filter, which you can just clean right? It was pretty dirty so I went ahead and put in the elcheapo but definitely going to check out trying to clean up the K&N

I live just outside of Chapel Hill in a subdivision named Briar Chapel. Moved in back in January. I have seen two other Tacomas with TacomaWorld decals on the windows. Would love to meet up with you guys! Hope you see this.

You have to wash it and re-oil it. I prefer good paper vs K&N my self.

K&N has a kit for cleaning them. You should see them on the shelf with the filters.

Way to teach by example driving instructor lol. Although I appreciate the wide birth around other cars.

I wouldn't put a K&N in anything I expected or desired to last 100k or more miles, they are not as effective as they would like you to believe. There have been many tests conferming this.
A good quality dry fiber filter is your best bet.
Yes, I have had K&N in my own junk, and found dust in the Intake tube over time, this is also getting into the engine.
The marketing slogan at one time was " it filters better the dirtier It gets " think about that.

Does anyone have experience installing an aftermarket cruise control kit, preferably on the 1st gen? I just got my order from Rostra and I looked at the instructions and I may be in over my head. :help:

Low and slow.. chopped up on 35s
K&ns work good with large particles.. fine dust is a weak point..

What does it take, plug it in or cut and solder?

I don't think I have to cut anything, other than whatever it takes to get through the firewall. It looks like it's just a lot of hooking up and running cables/wires. It's probably not that bad, just a long painful process.

    Gents,

I have a full set of budbuilt skids that I took off my Tacoma if anyone is interested. You will need new hardware and a fresh coat of paint but other than that they are good to go. For an 05-15 Tacoma. I had my exhaust tucked up to allow for a flat belly so I do not have the spacers. If you have a V6 you will need to have this done, or contact Bud for a set of spacers.

Let me know if you are interested...$500obo seems fair...
