The Waiting Game...Who's playing?

Nope, it went from Vancouver to North of Seattle and then they weren't specific where it was yesterday and then today they didn't respond to my email. Tomorrow is the beginning of my ETA (3/2-3/7) so we will see what they say tomorrow.

 

Ordered my 2016 TRD-OFF ROAD 4x4 Quicksand long bed in November . Call today and they were like when it's here it's here . Ugh !

I order DCLB off-road the beginning of February. The build day was last and it's in transit to the dealership. Maybe be here the end of the week. I think it's a luck of the draw with dealerships. They actually ordered two trucks, they were being built at different factories.

 

If you are in the GST region do what I did after they wouldn't accept my SOVR after 3 cycles.. Call Toyota customer service and file a formal complaint on GST. It was less than 24 hours before I had a conformation of placed order email from corporate and an apologetic email from GST. This was done with my dealer knowing about it. I refuse to deal with just a normal salesman at the dealership I will only deal directly with the sales manager. Doing this cuts out 50% of the BS.

 

Figured I have been lurking on this thread long enough. It's time to throw my hat into the ring. I ordered a 2016 BBP 4x4 DCSB OR manual with tech and tow package on 11/30. Unfortunately, no build date, not even a guess as to when the order might get picked up, but I keep coming back to here because seeing others get their truck gives me hope that it will.

 

Did they give you a temp VIN? I ordered pretty much the same configuration on 2/15 and got a build date of 3/4. I'm in NH. BBP 4x4 DSCB 6MT P/T. The last 6 of my temp VIN is 09B472 which translates to:

09 = production scheduled for 9th week of the year
B = Texas plant
472 = build sequence #

Supposed to reach the dealership sometime around mid/late April.

 

Your in the GST Region call Toyota customer service. Make sure you call the corporate number and not the Gulf states Toyota number. The more people that call about the issue with GST not picking up manual transmission orders the better chance they will do something about it. For some reason GST hates manual transmissions and won't accept the orders without getting nasty with them. Tell your dealer to do a SOVR on your truck because I would bet that they are trying to do a dealer allocation trade or a BOS change on it.

 

It is entirely possible that Toyota is only willing to make a certain number of the MT models in order to keep the CAFE #s up. If that is the case, there may be more requests to order them than there are trucks available. In that situation, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Toyota prioritized its own dealer orders over giving those trucks to GST or SET dealers.

Thanks for the info RedBeard1. You make a good point. I'll give Toyota corporate a call. When I ordered the truck the dealer had talked about doing a BOS change, and then trying to do a SOVR if they won't take the BOS change. So its past time to follow up with them to see if they ever did put in an SOVR.

I read on one of the threads here that the manual OR where only going to be around 3% of what they made. So I kind of figured that was them limiting for CAFE, and perceived consumer demand. I wouldn't be surprised either if they where saving all the manual goodness for themselves.

 

I think I got lucky! My dealer said that a TRD 4x4 in MANUAL was headed to AZ, but order was cancelled... I think I got it! .. Very few manuals being sent to AZ, I mean very, very few.. I tried to order a m/t , but Toyota rejected the order! Said they need to collect more manual orders before producing.. I got everything I wanted , except color (2nd choice) Good luck out there!

 

Called Toyota USA and started a complainant about the dealer. It has been 3.5 moths since I placed my order for a DCLB OR w/PTand JBL and put down a deposit and I still don't have any info. I am supposed to hear back from the dealer by the end of business today. It is 3:30pm and still nothing.

 

Today was the first day of my delivery window. No call. :-( I even went by the dealership to see if it came in and they just didn't call me. Nope. Maybe tomorrow.

Today was also the first day of my window. Only mine has been floating around Seattle since Saturday. And was in Renton this morning. Also my window changed from 3/2-3/7 to 3/2-3/4. The truck is supposed to be in Bremerton. So maybe tomorrow.

 

Got the email this morning!! Going to pick it up this afternoon at 4!!

 

My appointment is Saturday at 10am!
