I played college softball and was a first string all star pitcher in high school. I think I got this

 

Nice! What was your velocity? I never managed to get much north of 60 when I was pitching in school.

 

I could hit low 50's in my day, but my strength was placement and off speed pitches

I had a wicked slider and a good curveball, but my fastball was mediocre. It was more mediocre the spring after I sprained my shoulder skiing, so I gave it up. Besides, that was around the time that I got a job and got interested in girls and cars instead of sports, so I didn't miss it too much, lol.

 

I was a better catcher than pitcher, but we didn't have anyone else who could pitch. I didn't start pitching until I was a freshman. They threw me in one game because our other pitcher didn't show up, and that's where I stayed haha

 

Ugh. I could never play catcher. Too hard on the knees. I ended up a pitcher in kind of the same way; the kid who was pitching for our team in 7th broke his arm, I volunteered to take over and I turned out to actually have a better all-around arm. He had a better fastball, though, so once he healed up we split pitching duties until I quit Sophomore year.

Funny, though, because I can't stand to watch baseball on TV. I don't mind watching the occasional game in real life, and I still enjoy playing now and then with friends, but watching it on the tube? Kill me.

 

yeah that's why my knees are effed now haha

i don't enjoy watching baseball but (and you guys are going to kill me) i love watching the yankees

I've tried watching baseball, but can never make it past the 3rd inning before I GTFO.

These morons stepping away from the plate for weeks before another pitch is thrown, only to do it again gets so old. They take a game that could be done in an hour and half and drag it out for 4 hours. If there was a 10 second time limit between pitches I might be more inclined to stick it out.....no wonder they call it the 7th inning stretch, everyone is ready to commit suicide from boredom.

They just figure that you paid so much for the ticket that they want to make sure you get your money' worth by giving you a 6 hour game, lol.
