    For the record, we use torches consistently on $100k+ cars, the temp never exceeds 120° MAX, you could put your hands between the torch and vinyl.

    A small handful of select mods.
    I put a 100amp for my blue sea box. My winch will stay directly on the battery. I am not sold on adding a breaker to it. Just not sure I want the breaker to trip in a life or death pull and then the winch just stops. Besides any quality winch has overloads in the solenoid so if you max out those bastards the winch stops anyways.

    I hear ya. I am replacing my solenoids with an Albright Contactor equivalent from Ebay, So I will take the plunge and use a Breaker based on that ComeUpWinches article.
