Samsung S5 vs Tacoma 2016

Hello guys, this is my first post ever here, glad to join the community!

I was advised by my salesman that they have not been able to sync the text message portion of the Samsung S5 with those trucks. Everything else works (music sync, phone sync)
Have any of you guys been able to do it / hear about this issue? Anything I can do? I am planning to get the new S7, but worried it won't fix my problem.

 

I have never been able to use the texts on my truck. I have the S5

Honestly, I didn't care for it. So I didn't pursue the issue.

ok no problem there is also a radio update for the 2015 tacomas that will also fix that issue but on a 16 im not sure.

 

How do I do about updating my radio? Do I request that from my dealer?

 

From what I was told Toyota is in the process of coming up with a fix for this

 

Will I be contacted when the fox is up or do I have to validate with dealer?

 

I would buy the S5 > 3rd Gen

 

Lol. I don't think they still are on the market, the S7 is it next week. Regardless, I obviously already have the phone

 

Ya you'll have to talk to the dealer and see when it comes out. I wasn't told when it will be out just in the works

 

My S5 works with my 2015 radio and will read while driving and display when stopped. I havent tried to send one of the quick responses back yet.

 

I have the S5 and havent had any problems it reads texts and emails for me???

 

I did have to get a qhi chip for wireless charging but other than that, flawless
