    Afternoon ladies and gents.

So my tax return is gonna be nice and healthy. Instead of going full mid travel I am just going to redo the front and maybe a new leafpack in the rear.

    Suggestions? Recommendations? Things to avoid?

    I want to run 265/75/16 or if I stay with 17 a 265/70/17.

For starters, I was thinking maybe an Icon Stage 1 in the front, and a Dakar rear?

if you like the icons thats a great start. Youll need new shocks for the rear to take advantage of the travel. OMEs will limit it a bit. You might want to remove a spring to soften the ride and lower the rear a bit

Well the Icon Stage 1 comes with front and rear shocks. So that would give me the extended travel needed in the rear. I'm not looking for the BroRunner look. Want level/lift with functionality and ride quality.

Being an old Icon guy, id say stay away from them (which will probably get me grilled)

Id watch for deals on classifieds. I know John scooped up a great deal on some Camburg fronts recently.

Yeah sometimes I hear rants and raves about how awesome they are, but then again they are pricey. Maybe I should just be a Bilstein 886 or 887 guy and keep it mild and not break the bank on suspension components.

I will look more into OME. What would be your suggested setup? I don't plan on adding any extra weight to the front of the truck, so I probably wouldn't need the 700# springs would I?

Gotcha. I still have to run a trim spacer with OME because it says 50mm of lift in front, and 55mm in the rear. And the fuckers are only 300 bucks cheaper than the Icons. At least buying through DSM..

I think you should just put the cash you want to spend aside and wait. There are so many good deals that come through on here. Its only a matter of time before someone else goes back to stock or upgrades.

There has been quite a bit of turnover lately.

My consistent recommendation is that unless you know/want/expect to really push the limits and/or keep it a long time (big name/big money time). At least get good shocks all the way around and replacement coils/leafs (OME or similar).

Spacers/stock coils/AALs are definitely likely to lead to a second round of upgrades.

I'm not a huge fan of Icon either, as I've said many times. ADS is so close, how could you not represent a local company :shameless plug:

I will defnitely do it the right way the first time. I just never planned on spending a TON of money for the best shit out there because I'll admit, I don't wheel my rig nearly as much as some of you guys and push the limits of what these vehicles can do. I want good road manners, a decent ride, a quality look, and be able to hit the trails and do some light to moderate offroading when I go camping and hunting. Nothing more, nothing less.

Question for you guys. I've been looking at my truck payment and interest and what not associated with the loan. I originally was just going to do monthly payments and pay off eventually. I'm now debating on just paying it off completely and being done with it. My question for you guys that are more financially savy than I, Do I deplete my savings and pay off the truck and save on interest or do I just do the monthly thing and keep money in savings and take the hit long term on interest accrued. Granted, if I pay off now, I would just take that monthly payment and put back into savings anyways. The interests on the loan is obviously higher than what I make in my savings account so I know I would save more long term paying off now but then my safety net, cash wise, is obviously not as great any more. You thoughts?

I'm in the same boat as you are. Still not sure what I wanna do for suspension setup. The only thing I know for sure I'm doing is TC uppers. Lol. No idea what leaf pack to get. What shocks to get or coilovers to get. It's more stressful trying to decide what I want than working the flight line. Lmao.
