It's not the volume, it's the sound. As compared to the Aero, Flowmaster, and other sound clips that I can find that have a throaty sound with distinct pulses, the TRD exhaust system sounds wheezy and undefined. It's just an unpleasant noise to me, but as you say we all have our own opinions. I plan to chop the exhaust just behind the rear axle, and I fear that the drone will get louder at highway speeds.

Here's what I did today (a little bit of a write up coming...):

Added two ammo boxes to the bed of my truck to sit flush with the side of the bed.

    Parts:
    - (2) ammo boxes
    - (1) piece of flat bar aluminum
    - black spray paint
    - misc hardware

First, I spray painted the ammo boxes flat black
    25455841445_18ac1c1ab2_o.jpg

Then I took a solid piece of flat bar aluminum and hacksawed 6" pieces for the brackets:
    25455835815_fbeb2157ed_o.jpg

Then I measured where i wanted the boxes to sit in the bed and drill the appropriate holes in the boxes/brackets:
    25160309740_c07cee7b92_o.jpg

Then it was a matter of getting all the hardware together and mounting them up:
Ran into a clearance issue (I knew it would be a problem but my first hardware run didn't account for how far out i'd need to go):
    25363002321_29b7796cbe_o.jpg

So back to the hardware store to get some spacers:
    25088272099_e810efbdfc_o.jpg
    and all buttoned up!
    24829173613_47a5ae84e7_o.jpg
    25429723646_3dea6e29e7_o.jpg

My next step will be security. The boxes themselves are easy enough to lock up (just need to buy long arm locks) but technically someone could steal the whole box/bracket assembly by taking two bolts off each side... Either way, I won't store any valuables in there for now. I just have one box filled with bungee cords.

Gotcha. From what I understand the resonator tip is what makes most of the sound. And when removed, it's actually pretty quiet. I've never heard it personally.

I'm looking for a M101 trailer myself for carrying stuff. I'll sleep in the truck and those boxes would be head knockers.

I hope you figured out that you undo the bolts on the control arm (do not remove them, just loosen) and drop the two bolts for the balljoint and it folds down so you can pull the strut out. not hard to do unless you dont move the arm.

So I am buying some stuff like the ARB deflator and 13 inch offroad antenna off Amazon. It should be here next week just before I get back home. I also updated the date and added a location link to the meeting that i am trying to set up for Kelowna BC.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/toyota-meet-in-the-okanagan-march-19th-2016.418473/

I am hoping to find some people that are able to come out and even just meet people from BC. I am looking for some info from someone regarding a possible early spring trail run but I want it to be open to everyone who comes so it might be a little early to do that. Anyone just accross the border wanna come up for the day on a meet? see the beautiful Okanagan Valley?

This was in Summerland which is known for being a little dry just over a week ago.DSC_0244.jpg
And this is Myra Canyon which has a small loop for basic 4wd people who just want to see something for the first time. Possible spot to drive to.
To show how steep that hill is in the video. IMAG0688_zps7bbfe627_a09601dcf2990205d54bb0cad284d5d6e5eb7f30.jpg
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MC__plh8-OU
This would have snow on it or be slightly muddy. Most likely still have snow. I will be checking the trails that I have thought of when I get back. basically do a loop to see if they are passable (will be bringing my quad for speed lol)

Are there any meets happening in Oregon or Washington soon? I am thinking about testing out the new rack system i have setup for the rooftop tent over the back of my truck. I will be installing it when I get back.
