4.56 with manual transmission? Regearing isn't too expensive unless you get air lockers right? Are you guys using ECGS for gears?

good to know.. I've been thinking of making the move to 295's myself in the next year or so (hopefully I can make it that long) from my current 285 ATII's.. definitely interested in the regear if you do go that route.. that has also been on the list.

yes..yes.. you'll do nicely as my guinea pig.. :D

Dude, that doesn't sound like your tires are rubbing. It sounds like your traction control is kicking on in sharp turns causing you to lose some steering. It doesn't happen to me but I read about it and you need to try and recalibrate your VSC.

I don't have a link to it but ozT has a write up on how to do it. Try search for that thread.

i'll let you know how my regear goes. ordered my 4.56's from ecgs with my tax return. only running the 285's as of now, but the potential for 35's in the future. I wanted to go with 4.33's since they would theoretically better suit the 285's, but they don't offer them for the front diff. hopefully they get built this week and ship out so I can get them installed within the following week or two. I've noticed the continuing loss in power throughout my build, even with the s/c, but especially being up at 7k foot in flagstaff. hoping to get some of that back :burnrubber:

    This.

It happened to me a good bit until I put the stiffer 700# coils on. Once when I did my most recent alignment, hasn't happened in a few months though. I took it to a dealer to zero out the VSC before the spring swap but I think it gets recalibrated after alignments?

Thanks for the info guys. Definitely checking into it come daylight. Can I do it myself or does it need to be taken to the stealership?

Haha probably sometime this year. Its not enough of a power loss to put regearing at the top of the lost, but its right under LT install, so Id say 6 months or so. Dual lockers, 4.56, the works. Dew it. I like the 295s, they fill the wheel wells perfectly, a bit of rub on the very back where the fender flares are, but gives me hope since my cab mount chop is a good inch behind those and I'm just barely rubbing the flares. (Glass is en route, booya). I figure get at least a good 30k-50k on the AT2s and then go for some 315s and see how I like them :). Supposedly 4.56/6 speed/35s is the sweet spot for OEM power

Preachin' to the choir here, I literally have a 6' x 5' shelf in the garage just packed full of boxes for shit i need to install. Then I have to babysit, or do something with the dog, or go back to work, or omg. Someday I'll have a full free weekend with nothing planned and get proactive and install some shit

Right, because the extra inch helped you SOOOOoooo much.

It's not about the size, it's about the motion of the ocean. ;)

This is also why I don't rock crawl and overland. Lol.

f*ck you're doing better than me. well at least you got parts sitting around. I miss having money to throw at the truck. went from making 45k a year to 10k and being a student. but tax return finally made regearing an option. though still a long to do list for the truck
