Say when, I am upgrading to steel brake lines, relocating the fuel filter (inside the tank is a stupid place), and fixing a ground fault issue. Also need to inspect the alternator belt and I had an oil leak that seems to have fixed it's self.

anyone needs bike help, just hit me up/ pm me. I was a master tech at a performance shop in CA before heading back to school out here in flagstaff. I don't have all of my tools out here yet, but am more than willing to give suggestions, advice, answers if I can to help out the local crowd

Awesome, I will keep you in mind. I am learning my way around my BMW. Bikes are so different than trucks, even though they still use fuel and require a spark.

Let me know if you want a hand, not my kind of bike but it would be a good way for me to learn more.

Sounds like you are the guys i need to talk to then. This is all very new to me luckily its a simple and almost bulletproof bike.
    2003 Suzuki DRZ400S

    4k miles on it.
So far I've put a new chain on it (sprockets looked new), kenda k270's front and rear, and DRC edge2 tail light/fender eliminator.

When I get the last of the parts together, I'll let you know. If your free swing by, I am sure I will be at it all day, plus there is always cold beer in the fridge.

The DRZ is very bullet proof, and quite simple. There are a few things I will note on it for you since I have had a lot of experience with them. Unfortunately, I've had a few drinks tonight...lol...so pm me and I'll give you a few things to look out for as well as some preventative maintenance tips

Pay off your truck. If you owe someone money for any purchase, the money you make is not yours. It belongs to the people you borrowed from to get ______.

However, do not leave yourself without at least some safety net. I'd say at least a few grand. That's a bare minimum. Otherwise wait a few months until you have that. Because sure as shit, you'll deplete your savings and the washer dryer will go out or the a/c will fail now that it's "summer", in March I know.

    My $0.02

It's awesome have a truck free of a payment.
