    Hi all,

I'm sure there have probably been many threads about this, but I was curious if anyone knows if there's a way to level the truck using the stock Bilsteins and a spacer.
All the places I've called quoted me $image.jpg 600 to $800 using the Bilstein kit plus labor.

I used 21/2 inch spaces in front and add a leaf in back. the kit was about 160.00 and 200.00 to install. it's not the best way but it works. I only 4 wheel on the beach and it's fine.

Looks good. How's the ride and what size tires are you running?

265/70/17 they are close to uca and rub a little on hard turns. If i had to do again i would go with 265/65/17 with a heavier A/T thread. The ride is fine.

Last question... I hope... :D Do you know if you had the Diff Drop done? *Answered my own question* I see kits all around, did you do the long add-a-leaf or the short? Supposedly the long version has an improved ride, etc.

Thank you for all your responses :)

Diff Drop came with my kit. All it is 2 spaces that go in between frame and Diff with 2 longer bolts. Have to take skid plate off. When I ordered the kit they gave me the opt. for the diff drop. I have had the same kit on 5 of my trucks now. (new kit each truck) The add a leaf was the short one. I don't think there is that big of a difference. But that's up to you.

Thank you :) Your truck looks great, the lift really improves the look overall. Did you use a local or chain shop to install your kit?

I put some 265/70/17 Nitto Grapplers and there's no rub whatsoever on the stock. Did the rub happen after the leveling?

You can also use toytec top plate spacer that is 1/2inch and will get you around 3/4 of lift or little more to level the front. That is another option.

What is the actual measure difference between the front and the back. I am seeing leveling kits that comes with 2.5" front spacer and nothing in the rear. There is no way that the front and the back are off by that much. I know that my 2006 4runner was off almost perfectly an inch.

I think the rear is around a little over 1inch compared to the front if I'm not mistaken. They are couple people on here that used the toytec 1/2 inch spacer that got around 3/4 or so of lift that looked leveled. Maybe a little rake which is still good.

I just got quoted $299 out the door with alignment included to level it with a spacer. Is that a good deal and are there any issues I should worry about without using the Bilstein 5100 kit?

I'm not sure. Whatever it takes to get it even. It's just an inch right?

with a 2 1/2 spacer in front and add a leaf in back it will lift the truck and should sit about level. Mine measures from ground to wheel well about 37 1/2 in front and 38 1/4 in rear.
