Resale is not something everyone cares about. If you plan to drive a vehicle into the ground, it's not the selling point it is to one who will plan to only keep a vehicle for a few years

Also, I really think that bubble is going to burst. The price people have been paying for used Tacoma's is insane...it's way off...I just can't see that going on forever.

Here is the thing you can't drive most GM products into the ground because they do not last. They also seem to not know what they are doing when they redesign things-minus the diesel which is from Thailand

well, i guess you better tell the thousands upon thousands of silverado, tahoe, suburban, s-10, owners driving their 20+ y/o trucks around that it's a miracle!

seriously, i like tacomas, but would have to say where i am in the mid-atlantic region i see way more old chevy's on the roads than old toyotas. mostly likely because the old tacos are skeletons... bodies rusted away a long time ago.

Yeah but I have a Silverado that is ten years old and it constantly needs parts so does my dad's and so does my brothers truck hope my taco doesn't need the same love but at least it will be worth more if I need to get rid of it

Resale value is important to me as well as reliability. I had 4 Tacomas and when I sell it or trade in. I lose very little money. I can't say the same for the other 6 cars I had. My money is valuable to me and I want as much money back as possible when I upgrade a few years later. Reliability is also important because I do not like to break down or repair my vehicle all the time. As for the Tacoma, I had very good experiences with resale and reliability. I think my 2016 DCSB SR5 4X4 rides nice, quiet, good performance and I enjoy the features the Tacoma has to offer such as the bed lights, tow package, back up camera, etc. Overall I am very happy wth my Tacoma and maybe in a couple years, I will upgrade to the TRD or maybe even the TRD Pro. Maybe that's why I am a Tacoma fanboy.

I don't think I've ever seen a Toyota that's had body rust beyond what would be considered normal around my area here in the salt belt. Besides the Tacoma frames. A lot of that is how the owner(s) take care of the vehicle. However I can't really say that much for some old Hondas I've seen over the years.

I see 8k vs 13k in sales. How is that 2 to 1?

GM sells roughly 85% of twins produced.
    Toyota sells 72%

Saying one is better then the other becuase there are more of them is crazy.

Twins do beat tacoma in a few areas. Tacoma wins in a few others. Simple as that.

Curios then how the twins sales are down 7% in January from the previous year? Are they making fewer than they made in 2015. Math is a stubborn thing...

I think we all should thank GM for producing the twins and made Toyota finally step up and give us the 3rd gen Tacoma.

Those 2 statements are contradictory when explaining why sales are down 7% from last year.

If GM is consistently selling 85% year over year then production numbers must be down, or they're not selling 85% because people are waiting on the diesel.

Or the 85% number is just crap (my guess).

production number is down, diesel delayed several times.

GM made about 11,500 twins a month in 2015. they sold 120k twins last year. simple math. 85%

Funny how the twins were out first with 305 of ass-kicking horse power..and Toyota decided not to bother trying to compete ;)

actually they went down. but only slightly. That is one thing that is crazy. Tacoma sells are all over the place. up down, up down. There is a slight trend though. 1st 2 years are great. Then it does drop off. probably a natural regress of ANY make or model.
