Trust has value also, so if you don't trust a tool, regardless of the price, it isn't worth having.

If HF makes you leery then don't buy it. You'll likely never believe what the torque wrench is telling you to be true.

    You non-quoter you.

I have several tools from HF, just not a torque wrench. I am not opposed to trying though.

I try to avoid HF and all I own is a torque wrench from them and a couple cheap garage organizers.

But, when I was researching torque wrenches for a week before buying one there was so much stacked in the favor of theirs that I bought it.

    No ragrets.

I have a few small hand tools from HF. But any big tools or machinery I always get a more well known brand. Like @DCSBFTMFW said it's a trust thing

Maybe one day Craftsman will be sold at Harbor Freight.

    Then...?

    WHO KNOWS WHAT WOULD HAPPEN.

Most of my hand tools are SnapOn or Matco. I have a spattering of Mac, Craftsman, Proto, S&K and the occasional Harbor Freight or Husky. I say if your livelihood depends on it, buy professional grade. If you are a hobbyist, buy hobbyist grade. If you are in a pinch, buy whatever you can get your hands on...

On another note, my dogs are deathly afraid of BB8. I let it "Patrol" the house while I'm doing chores and what not. The dogs follow me around looking over their shoulders at the BB8 rolling around the floor. Once, the little girl thought she was being chased and "yipped" at it.

Its even funnier when people know that my dogs are "pitbulls" and a banned breed in some cities and countries(for public misperceptions i might add). These dogs are such puss' that the rain makes them tuck tail and run for the blankets...

I remember reading the article abou the HF torque wrench. They said they are just as accurate as long as you zero it out after use each time. If you don't zero it out it will wear quicker and was 6-10 ft/lbs off after a couple weeks. I zero mine each time and have used the HF a lot. For $11 it's hard to beat when I'm just using it for lug nuts and higher torque settings where a lb or two isn't going to mean catastrophic failure.

So lets see a fucking link to that test, biotch.

I have a used Snap-On 200 lb that I bought for $99 bucks at a pawn shop and sent out for recalibration.

I have a somewhat older Craftsman, uh, shit, I forget, 80 or 100 pounder I've been pretty happy with, never had it calibrated. That was my cherry on T wrenches, a long time ago.

I need a low-range inch-pounder. Looking for recommendations. Eyeballing Proto online. I'm reluctant to buy Craftsman for this. I have a lot of their older stuff, but recently I've had some non-stellar experiences. I'm not going to trust torque to this failing retail chain and brand's business model, which, apparently, is failure.

I think my big husky torque wrench is off. Ive been using my 2 HF torqs latly. The husky tools have a lifetime warranty. Can I just take it back to Homedepot for a new one?
