I received my canned response just now.

Except they told me to continue to pursue it with my dealership.....um....they looked at it, opened a case and told me to follow up with corporate....well then..

I will wait a week and call in to check on progress..
I understand fmy dealership. They are not blowing me off but at the same time they won't remove heat shields (or whatever) and call it good so they are waiting for Toyota..we just have to keep bugging I may just approach the service manager, apologize in advance, and then be a PITA so he complains to corporate..lol

Does anyone else notice that all of a sudden people are getting a response from corporate? It's like they had no formal response to many of you for quite some time and now they are dropping the canned responses left and right. Does this mean they have given up on a fix, or does it mean a fix is coming soon?

My response was for the asktoyota.com submission we all did earlier this week when someone posted the link. I don't think the response was in relation to my case.

OR does this mean that the dealers are about to get a TSB or recall for this? The dealer is the only one who can fix the issue.

STOP THAT RIGHT NOW... Forums aren't meant for optimism! They're meant for sarcasm, negativity, bashing, and incorrect DIY instructions!

    LOL

I was bored at work and went on Toyota's Facebook page and I couldn't find any complaints about this. There were some for the hunting transmission and some general bitching but no vibe talk.

Actually, I had a Tacoma ad popup in my news feed and in its comments were several people asking about hood issues and these vibrations..the Toyota rep just kept responding by apologizing and telling them to call the 1-800 number..

Where is Toyotas headquarters and how much is it for a billboard advert :))

talked to my dealer today and they know about the vibration and possible tranny fumble for lack of a better word. before I mentioned anything about it, they mentioned a tranmission update coming later on here. I am friends with this person who is part owner of the dealership and has a couple buddies in engineering at Toyota. not sure when, but at least they for sure know about both transmission and vibration.

btw. mine doesn't currently vibrate any worse than my 14, but the transmission vibrations I do notice.

Did anyone do a poll on which factory the defective Tacomas' are made? My Vin starts with a 3 [which is Baja]. Many, including mine buzz were made in Baja. I am driving a Texas made Sport with 1300 miles that is smooth as glass. No vibes.

I wish I could spend an afternoon looking over one that was smooth as glass for comparison! Might be able to rule some things out pretty quickly that way.

well just depends how fast you drive it.. mildly way to say it.. it like a big vibe cock which women would love.. if I would said that to the dealer.. then he gets the idea what the problem. I did test drove one.. told the dealer about it.. he made note of it.. I am sticking to my 14 until the damn mother yota starts to sing and get this damn thing fix.. I noticed at the dealer where I got my truck,, which I pass by daily,, they are selling SLOW.

This model is now the second, that I drove made in Texas with no vibes. Both made in January 2016. One was a access cab sport with 6 miles and the sport I am driving with 1300 miles, built in January 2016 - no vibes. [Note-My Limited built in December 2015 in Baja is vibrating too much to safely drive]. Not giving up the fight for Tacoma!
